You’re losing to people who figured out how to stay consistent when life gets uncomfortable.

The hotel gym. The client dinner. The red-eye flight. The schedule that doesn’t leave room for a single thing to go right.

Most athletes come home from a work trip 2–3 weeks behind where they left. The ones who have a system? They come home ahead. That’s not a small edge.. that’s a 4–5 week swing between you and someone with the same discipline, the same goals, and the same calendar.

Words can’t describe the impact of these last few days..

Tuesday March 10th at 7:09pm, we were blessed to welcome our baby boy, Joey Yorko

He’s healthy, Kirsten is healthy and we are settling into our new life as parents… but this was not the birth we had expected.

Tuesday morning I got a call that there was an opening for our 41 week ultrasound available today…
There were no signs of labour and he was moving around like a healthy baby so we thought nothing of it.

But at the appointment we quickly learned he was Frank breech and low on fluid… they schedule a c-section for 5 hours later and we had to scramble to accept this change while we get things ready.

Everything went well in surgery and we are home now, falling into the new groove of parenthood with our hearts full.

The way Kirsten handles the change of plans, surgery, recovery and being a new mom has made me so proud of her ❤️ she is handling everything so well.

We have been fully offline since tuesday and will be catching up on messages and the other parts of life.

We appreciate all the support and warm wishes ❤️

3 core exercises you need to be doing (but probably aren’t).

If you think “core training” means sit-ups or crunches, this is why your:
• low back keeps getting tight
• hips feel unstable
• strength plateaus
• pain keeps coming back

Your core’s real job isn’t to flex.
It’s to stabilize, resist movement, and transfer force.

These 3 exercises do exactly that:

1️⃣ Bird Dogs
Builds deep core stability, spinal control, and coordination.
Essential for protecting the low back and improving movement efficiency.

2️⃣ Pallof Press
Trains anti-rotation strength.
This is what keeps your spine safe during lifting, running, and daily life.

When we started working together,
Sheldon had constant low back pain and tightness.

Overcoming chronic pain is an exhausting process with so much complicated and contradicting advice online it’s hard to know what’s right and what’s wrong.

Filtering through the noise is hard enough, but the biggest struggle for me was seeing professionals that I was supposed to trust but they had never experienced the injuries I had. They were trying to rehab my injuries from a textbook… they were isolating 1 area instead of looking at my body as a system of systems that all work together.

Being in pain everyday of my life for over 5 years (I think it was about 7), was exhausting on a daily basis. People don’t understand the energy it takes to live your life through that discomfort.

That’s why I want to share easy to understand principles that will change your life.

Balance is a myth… in times of growth, life is extremely imbalanced.
And that has been the case for my life the past 6 months.

Now… we’re finding our routine again, I’m consistent with my habits, I have goals for each area, I’m doing what I need to when I need to, and everything is feeling aligned.

Remember this: you can’t pour from an empty cup.

The energy I have gained since dialing in my exercise, nutrition and daily habits for my mind has been incredible.

It been something I didn’t know I lost cause I just kept showing up to the best I could.

Take care of yourself.

Fill your cup first.
