🌟 Meet Trace! 🌟

Bringing creativity, climbing, and some seriously cool maker skills to Camp Tamarack! 🎨🧗

Trace is joining us from Sheffield, England, for his first season as a Camp Leader! His favourite colour is pink, and back home he has two cats named Milo and Luna. 🐱

With a background in art, design, and computer graphics, Trace loves creating in just about every way—digitally, by hand, through videos, and even with a sewing machine. He can make his own plushies! 🧵

But Trace isn’t afraid to trade the art supplies for a little outdoor adventure either. He loves climbing and playing games and is loving the outdoor and wilderness this summer. 🔥

Although our Summer Camp season has come to an end, we still want to recognize our amazing staff this season! So we will continue to share a little about them for the next bit before most leave us and hopefully next year we will see them again!

🌟 Meet Gizmo! 🌟

Bringing music, adventure, and a serious love for trying new things to Camp Tamarack! 🧗🎶

Gizmo is joining us from Devon, England, for her first season as a Camp Leader! Her favourite colour is blue, she has a dog named Maggie, and if there’s an outdoor adventure involved—you can probably count her in.

Currently studying Outdoor Adventure and Sport, Gizmo has completed her Climbing Assistant Instructor course and is working toward becoming a Paddlesport Instructor. She’s also a runner who has completed two half marathons and has her sights set on her first full marathon! 🏃

And somehow there’s MORE! Gizmo plays piano, drums, and the bugle, has taught snare drum, volunteers with Sea Cadets, completed her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, AND has earned her RYA Watchleader qualification on a tall ship. ⛵

Clearly, sitting still isn’t really Gizmo’s thing. 😂

🌟 Meet Mnau! 🌟

Bringing creativity, kindness, and a little piece of Czechia to Camp Tamarack! 🧡

Mnau is joining us from Žďár nad Sázavou, Czechia, for her first season as a Camp Leader! Her favourite colour is orange, she loves crafting—especially crocheting and making jewelry—and she’s a BIG cat person. In fact, her family has five cats on their farm! 🐱

Mnau is currently studying Social Pedagogy with a focus on working with children and already has camp experience as a group leader at a children’s camp back home in Czechia.

For Mnau, one of the best parts of camp is the connections that are made along the way—meeting new people and being there to share in both the happy moments and the harder ones. 💛

e🌟 Meet Fern! 🌟

Bringing curiosity, creativity, and a love of discovery to Camp Tamarack! 🌎💙

Fern is joining us all the way from Medan, Indonesia, for her first season as a Camp Leader! She loves a little bit of everything—arts and crafts, group games, outdoor adventures, and especially activities where everyone can jump in and be part of the fun.

Currently studying Life Sciences, Fern is fascinated by the world around her. From discovering how animals adapt to wondering why certain birds seem to show up everywhere, she loves asking questions, learning new things, and sharing that curiosity with others. 🔬🌿

Fern is excited to meet all the campers still to come, to try new things, and see what THEY come up with! She’s loving all the fun, creative, and maybe slightly unexpected activities campers have chosen along the way so far! 😄

Today we welcome our final group of campers for Summer Camp 2026!

It feels like we were just getting started, and somehow we’ve already arrived at the final drop-off of the summer.

For now, there are still bags to unpack, bunks to choose, names to learn, schedules to discover and an entire week ahead.
