This FREE summit is open to female players U7–U18 in the West Kootenay district and will include:
Two on-ice sessions
Dryland training
Nutrition education
Lunch provided by Century 21

All sessions led by female coaches and trainers
Our goal is to inspire, develop, and empower the next generation of female hockey players in our community. Whether your athlete is just starting out or already competing at a high level, this day is designed to build confidence, skills, and connection.

The U18 Female BC Hockey Championships are coming to Trail BC March 18th - 22nd, and it’s time to spotlight the team proudly defending home ice — the West Kootenay WILDCATS!!

This is a true regional powerhouse, built from the heart of the Kootenays with athletes representing:

Nelson • Castlegar • Grand Forks • Kaslo • Trail • Creston • Fruitvale

Many of these players have been battling side‑by‑side since their U13 WILDCAT days, growing up in this program, building chemistry, and creating memories that stretch far beyond the rink.

And this year hits different for many of their players …

For several of their athletes, this will be their final chance to compete on home ice — in front of their families, their communities, and the region that shaped them.

Expect passion. Expect pride. Expect everything they’ve got!

The Wild Cats are ready!

Zoe Huscroft is representing Western Canada as an Elite Female U13 Hockey Player with Chaos Elite, scouted as 1 of 16 top players. She will be competing and showcasing her talent in 5 tournaments from Nova Scotia to Manitoba, Alberta and BC over the next 5 months.

📣 Exciting news! Purcell Hockey Academy is pleased to announce its first-ever summer skills camp for girls in three age cohorts:

💥 10 – 12 years (2014, 2015, 2016)
💥 13 – 14 years (2012, 2013)
💥 15 – 16 years (2010, 2011)

👀 Looking for a great way to kick off your summer holidays? This camp is for you! 🫵

🗓️ July 6 – 10, 2026
📍 Cranbrook, BC

💪 The lead instructor of the camp is world-renowned skills coach (and PHA Academy Directory), Valeriia Manchak-Jensen, founder of 🙌

Other PHA coaches participating in the camp include:

✅ Bill Lochhead, PHA 19U Head Coach
✅ Marise Larios, PHA 16 Assistant Coach
✅ Tyson Brouwer, PHA Goaltending Coach

The camp schedule includes:

🏒 two ice sessions per day
👟 two off-ice training sessions per day
👩‍🏫 two seminars per day

Seminar leaders are subject-matter experts in a relevant topic areas including:

🧠 sports psychology
🍽️ nutrition
🎓 college admission
⚖️ student-athlete balance

Spaces are limited to 26 position players and four goalies per cohort. The cost for the camp is CAD$895 and includes a jersey, water bottle, and t-shirt 🤩

Girls who play in the receive a $100 discount 👊

👉 snacks and lunch included in the price
👉 preferred rates at local accommodators available to out-of-town parents
👉 billet or boarding options for unaccompanied participants over 13 years of age available

Over Family Day long weekend, two of our U9 Jr. Jets, Fiona Taylor and Rylah Ostendorf, joined the Cranbrook U11 females for a tournament in Salmon Arm. They had a blast!

Thankful our region can come together for hockey teams and more opportunities to play. 🩷
