1. Proper technique
Young athletes are still developing movement patterns. Good coaching teaches them how to lift, move, land, accelerate and change direction safely and effectively.
2. Individualized development
Athletes don’t all need the same thing. Training should meet them where they are and progress as they develop.
3. Improved athletic development
Strength, speed, power, coordination, mobility and endurance all contribute to becoming a more capable athlete regardless of the sport.
4. Building confidence
Confidence comes from being challenged in a controlled environment. A coach knows when to push an athlete outside their comfort zone, when to pull back, and how to create opportunities for them to succeed. Over time, athletes learn that they are capable of more than they thought and that confidence starts to show up everywhere.
