The Creston Valley Thunder Cats are a junior 'B' ice hockey team based in Creston, British Columbia, Canada. They are members of the Eddie Mountain Division of the Kootenay Conference of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). The Thunder Cats play their home games at Johnny Bucyk Arena. Michael Moore is the team's president, Jeff Dubois is the general manager and coach. The Thund

er Cats joined the KIJHL in 2000 as an expansion team, after they played junior 'A' in the RMJHL from 1992-99
Before the Thunder Cats, Creston also had a junior 'B' team in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL), the Creston Clippers, before folding in 1985. The Creston Thunder were founded in 1992 as a junior 'A' team in the Rocky Mountain Junior Hockey League. By the 1998-99 season, the RMJHL had fallen to four teams and was playing a lot of interleague with the America West Hockey League. The Creston Thunder could not afford the travel and opted to leave the RMJHL, effectively forcing the league to fold, at the end of the 1999 playoffs. The team sat out for the 1999-00 season to reorganize. Prior to the 2000-01 season, the team was renamed the Creston Valley Thunder Cats and joined the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.

Community hockey thrives because of community support.

As a community-owned hockey club, every sponsorship dollar goes directly back into providing opportunities for local athletes, supporting player development, keeping hockey affordable, and ensuring the Creston Valley Thunder remains a team that belongs to the community—not outside owners.

Our sponsors aren’t just advertising their businesses; they’re investing in local youth, local families, and the future of hockey in the Creston Valley.

When you support our sponsors, you’re helping keep community hockey alive and strong for generations to come.

Thank you to all of our sponsors for helping make community-owned hockey possible. ⚡🏒

ATTENTION CRESTON

This is a reminder that our Annual General Meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 12th at 7:00 PM.

*Notice the location has changed to the Curling Club Viewing Area.*

Who is welcome to attend? Anyone and everyone!

If you want your voice heard, questions answered or concerns raised this is your opportunity to have an important share.

Given how rigid the process of an AGM is, there will be a town-hall portion immediately following the formal portion of the AGM. This will allow the attendees to ask questions of the Board and have open mic discussions

Per AGM rules, there is a $10 registration fee which makes attendees a voting member of the organization for the 2026/2027 season

As a community owned team we are driven by YOU. So take this opportunity to help make a lasting impact on junior hockey in this community.
