Join coach Andrea Parnell, coach and athlete at Cranbrook BJJ, for a no pressure introduction to Jiu Jitsu focused self defense!

SATURDAY August 22 10am-1pm

Andrea has been training for 11 years and coaching for 6. Her favorite aspect of coaching is sharing her love for Jiu Jitsu with the next generation. This session will cover the self defense aspects of jiu-jitsu:

Fundamentals of the “leverage over strength” Jiu Jitsu strategy for grappling

Managing distance using connections and frames

How to safely fall

Escaping common pins and restraints

Introduction to practical submissions for larger & stronger opponents

Confidence building games with at your own pace scaled intensity and level of contact

a guaranteed FUN session of body movement & empowerment ‍

‍Begin your skill development with this 1\2 day workshop or make it a step toward a sustained practice. Women’s only training every Friday 5:30-6:30pm. Remember, like all skills, mastery of self defense cannot happen in a single day. You WILL leave with some tools but practice is the only way to become skillful.

No experience necessary, work out cloths, a water bottle & a willingness to play are all you need, we will take care of the rest!

What an awesome day at our CBJJ In-House Tournament & Pizza Party! 🥋🍕

We are so proud of all of our students for stepping on the mats and showing not only their technique, but also their grit, heart, and sportsmanship. Whether the matches ended in a win or a learning opportunity, every single student showed courage by getting out there and trying their best—and that’s what really matters!

What a fun way to celebrate the end of another great semester together—we’re so proud of all our students! ❤️👊
