Souths Rugby Union Club was formed in 1948 and proudly boasts being the most successful rugby club in Australia.

Since its inception, Souths has produced over 70 Queensland representatives and over 30 Australian representatives.

SOUTHS 2026 AGM
The club committee has resolved to provide notice of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Souths Rugby Rugby Union Club Inc. The meeting will be held in person at 6.30pm on 26 November 2026 at 104 Frederick Street, Annerley, Qld 4103.
If you or someone you know is not a voting member, but would like to be, you/they will need to apply for membership via our website.

3RD GRADE | We are pleased to confirm Scot Parlane and Callum Lauder as our 3rd Grade Coaching Team for 2027.

Both respected Souths clubmen, Scot brings a strong coaching record to the role, having enjoyed success across the Colts program, including multiple Colts premierships and Finals appearances.

Alongside him, Callum brings a wealth of playing experience, progressing through the Colts, Grades and Premier Grade programs as well as gaining overseas experience with Hong Kong Football Club.

We can't wait to see what the boys can achieve in 2027.

CHECK IN ON YOUR MATES.

October is Mental Health Month, and a reminder that our connection doesn’t end when the rugby season does.

During the season, we see our teammates, coaches and friends week in, week out. But when the off-season rolls around, we don’t always see those familiar faces as often.

You never truly know what someone might be going through, and sometimes a simple message, phone call or catch-up can make all the difference.

At Souths Rugby, we’re more than just a rugby club. We’re a community built on connection, friendship and looking out for one another. Because a strong club isn’t just about what happens on the field - it’s about how we show up for each other off it.

So keep checking in, keep showing up and keep looking after your mates.

2ND GRADE | We are pleased to confirm our 2nd Grade Coaching Team for 2027.

Craig Kassulke "Rowdy" returns as Head Coach and will be joined by Siua Pole and Brendan Ward as they lead our 2nd Grade squad into the new season. Rowdy is a Souths Rugby Life Member and long-serving club leader.

Bringing together experience across club, school and representative rugby, the coaching team will continue to focus on player development, building depth and creating opportunities for players to progress through the club.

We look forward to seeing Rowdy, Siua and Wardy lead the group in 2027.

Vale - Gary ‘Gazman’ Lambert | 25•05•1964 - 15•10•2026

Arriving in 2020 to a pre season Saturday session, Gaz was looking for somewhere to do a bit of fitness. What followed was Gaz joining the Friday night team and becoming a regular fixture. Each Friday Gaz would drive from his place in Casuarina for his beloved magpies and would often turn up to grades training through the week. Gaz was a part of the triple premiership winning Friday night lights team and was always a loved team mate. Funeral details to follow.

We are pleased to confirm the return of our Colts Coaching Team for 2027.

Following a strong 2026 season that culminated in a Colts 1 Grand Final appearance, Matt Bennett and John Hearn will once again lead our Colts Program in 2027.

Their experience and commitment to developing young Colts continues to strengthen the connection between Colts and Grades.

Congratulations Matt and Hearny, and thank you for your ongoing commitment to the Magpies.
