Basketball Victoria Country is running an Under 12 Skills Day for players born in 2015 and 2016.

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Shepparton Sports Stadium
𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀: Saturday 25 July
𝗚𝗶𝗿𝗹𝘀: Sunday 26 July

This is a fantastic opportunity for young players to develop their skills, learn from experienced coaches and enjoy a day of basketball with players from across the region!

Players born in 2015 will also be eligible for consideration in the Country Jamboree pathway.

✅ Early bird registrations are available until 12 July, so don’t leave it too late!

Early bird registrations for the U12 Country Skills Days are now open!

The 2026 Country Skills Days will be held on Saturday 25th July and Sunday 26th July at 10 regional academies across Victoria.

These Skill Day events are part of a development program for players of all abilities and standards from all associations located in regional Victoria. This will be an opportunity for identified athletes to be selected to participate in the U12 Country Jamboree in Echuca in September!

As you know, we are making changes to our domestic competition calendar, which means there will be a gap before the next season begins.

To keep players on the court, we thought we would introduce something new and see if 3x3 competition is something that we can look at running more frequently! 🏀

The program will run for 4 weeks, with multiple games each night.

The Bandits are excited to welcome local product 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒍𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒚 back to the Border as he prepares to make his debut this weekend.

Harvey’s basketball journey is one that many young players across our region aspire to follow. Beginning his development through the and pathways, Lochlin progressed through Basketball Victoria’s high-performance system, earning opportunities with Vic Country teams, before taking his talents to the US collegiate system.

Now, after gaining valuable experience as a point guard at college, Harvey returns to the Border ready to take the another step forward in his basketball career with the Bandits at NBL1 level.

Bandits Basketball Head Coach, 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏 said Harvey’s debut is another example of the pathway opportunities available to young regional athletes.

“Lochlin’s journey is part of what we what we want our pathway to represent. He started as a young player from our region, worked his way through representative basketball, earned state and college opportunities, and now returns home to compete at the NBL1 level.”

Harvey’s return also reinforces the club’s commitment to developing and providing opportunities for emerging regional talent.

Known for his defensive intensity, leadership and ability to control the tempo of a game, Harvey will add energy and depth to the Bandits backcourt as the team continues to build towards the future.

The entire Bandits family looks forward to welcoming Lochlin onto the floor for his first game in the black and grey!
