𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗘 𝗣𝗘𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗩𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗛

Today, the Wattles family pauses to acknowledge the passing of a truly great man, Peter Cavanagh.

Peter’s contribution to rugby league across the Southern Downs is difficult to put into words. For more than five decades, he gave his time, his heart and his unwavering commitment to the game, helping shape not only clubs and competitions, but generations of players, volunteers and families.

His legacy will live on in every young player who pulls on a jersey, every volunteer who gives their time, and every club person who understands that rugby league is about far more than what happens on the field.

As a mark of respect, all Wattles Juniors players will wear black armbands at tomorrow’s home game in honour of Peter and the incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Peter’s impact on the Wattles community and the wider rugby league family will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a legacy of service, passion, mateship and dedication that will continue to inspire us for years to come.

On behalf of Wattles Junior Rugby League, we extend our deepest sympathies to Peter’s family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy, Peter. Your contribution to our game and our community will always be remembered. 💚💛
