โฝUNBEATEN MARGS MEN CLAIM TITLE
FOOTBALL Margaret Riverโs Menโs Premier side has capped an outstanding regular season by claiming the South West league championship without losing a game.
The title was sealed in a top-of-the-table clash away from home against nearest rivals Bunbury Dynamos, with Margaret River grinding out a 1-0 victory to secure the trophy and preserve their unbeaten record.
Retiring goalkeeper Mike Lane played a key role in the win, producing a standout performance to keep Dynamos scoreless.
His efforts across the season also earned him the leagueโs Golden Glove award for conceding the fewest goals.
The league championship adds to an already impressive year for the senior squad.
Margaret River also won the Margaret River Pre-Season Carnival before beating Bunbury Dynamos 2-1 earlier in the year to lift the South West Horizon Cup.
