Turf donations appreciation post
A huge thank you to all our members, past members, and friends who have generously donated towards our new turf pitch. It’s been a long time coming, and we’re excited to see it in action very soon.
If you’d still like to support the project and have your name permanently displayed on the board in the Club’s Main Hall, there’s still time to contribute. Donations can continue to be made to the SICC Turf Account.
Donations will close at the end of March, so don’t miss the chance to be part of the club’s history.
Thank you again to everyone who has contributed so far your support means a lot to the club. 🧡🖤

Last weekend wasn’t just another game of cricket it was Darryl’s round.
We walked onto the field knowing we weren’t just representing the club, we were honouring a Singleton Irwinians legend. The sun was out, the whites were on, and there was a quiet sense of purpose about the group. It felt like one of those special days the kind Darryl would’ve loved.
Darryl was everything grassroots cricket is about. First to put his hand up to open the batting or take the new ball. Happy to field anywhere. Quick with a joke in the slips. Fiercely competitive, but always playing the game in the right spirit. A ripper bloke who made Saturdays better just by being there.
Last weekend, every run meant a little more. Every diving stop, every loud appeal, every bit of encouragement between overs that was for him. When we stuck at it during the tough patches and backed each other in, you could almost hear Darryl reminding us to keep our heads and trust the process.
It wasn’t about individual scores. It was about playing the way he did — selfless, tough, and for your mates. Seeing past players, family, and the Irwinians community come together was a reminder of the legacy he left behind. He wasn’t just part of the club — he helped shape its heart.
As we clapped off at the end of the day, there was pride. Pride in the performance, but even more pride in the way we carried ourselves. Because that’s what Darryl stood for.
Once an Irwinian, always an Irwinian.
And last weekend, we made sure his spirit was right there in the middle with us. 🏏

Tim Lees & Maiya Lees – Father/Daughter Game
A special and memorable moment for the club as Tim and Maiya Lees took the field together in a father/daughter game. Opportunities like this don’t come around often, making it a truly proud occasion for both family and club. It’s a great reflection of what community cricket is all about — bringing generations together and creating lifelong memories. Well done to Tim and Maiya on sharing such a fantastic milestone 👏

🧡BLACK ARMBANDS Tomorrow FOR DARRYL 🖤
Tomorrow take the field wearing black armbands in honour of Darryl. A special day for our club, and one we’ll be playing with plenty of pride and heart.
A few big mentions in today’s line-ups too
John Case – A Grade debut. Huge effort to earn your spot.
Max Lowe – Debut day as well. Back yourself and enjoy every second.
Maiya Lee's – On seniors debut. A proud moment for the family and the club.
Welcome back Jimmy O’Donnell, who’s flown over from the east just to be part of Darryl’s game. That’s what this club’s about.
Play hard. Stick together. Honour Darryl the right way.

🧡🖤 CONGRATULATIONS LADS 🖤🧡
Massive shout-out to Michael Shuttleworth Cap #134 and Jerome Stapelfeldt Cap #135 on pulling on the A Grade lid for the first time with the Singleton Irwinians bloody ripper effort, boys!
Cracking achievement to earn a debut in the club’s top side. All the hard yards at training, in the lower grades and behind the scenes has paid off, and now you’re officially A Grade cricketers. That’s something no one can ever take away from ya.
The whole club’s wrapped for you both family, teammates, coaches and supporters. Plenty more big moments to come in the black and orange. Strap in and enjoy the ride, legends! 🏏🔥
