🇦🇺 The Road to Nationals

A quick look behind the scenes at Isla Shaw’s preparation for the upcoming National Championships on the Sunshine Coast.

Brett Lancaster catches up with Isla about her training, her cross-training and how she’s feeling heading into Nationals — before presenting her with $500 through the Shepparton Cycling Club Junior Development Funding Program to help support the journey.

A special mention must go to Steve Fairless, who has put in countless hours over the past few months on the motorbike, pacing Isla around the track and playing a big part in getting her ready. 👏

There’s plenty of work that happens away from race day. This video gives a great insight into it.

🚴 BACKING OUR JUNIORS | SCC JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT FUNDING

Following last year’s AGM, SCC set a clear direction for the future of the club, including an ambitious goal:

🏆 To develop junior talent into world champions.

We know that if we’re going to say it, we need to back it.

The committee has now introduced the SCC Junior Development Funding Program to help support our junior riders as they progress through State, National and International competition.

This program provides financial support for eligible SCC juniors competing at higher levels, helping ease the growing costs of travel, accommodation and racing.

We have some incredibly talented young riders coming through SCC, and we want to support them as they take the next step in their journey—whether that’s State Championships, National Series, or beyond.

This is about the club investing directly in our juniors and their future.

💙🤍 We said we want to develop junior talent into world champions. Now we’re backing that ambition.

At Shepparton Cycling Club, we’ve made no secret of one of our biggest ambitions:

🏆 To develop junior talent into world champions.

But ambitious goals need to be backed by action.

We’ve been working on something behind the scenes that will see SCC directly invest in our junior riders and help support them as they take their racing to higher levels.
