Before the opening match of our 2024/25 premiership season, Preston Cricket Club was privileged to welcome Emmilia O'Sullivan as our guest speaker.

Emmilia shared her remarkable life story, speaking with honesty, courage and humour about the serious health challenges she had faced from childhood through to adulthood. Her resilience in the face of adversity was truly inspiring.

She was the author of the bestselling book “I Should Be F’n Dead”, which chronicled her extraordinary journey and the determination that defined her life.

Emmilia left a lasting impression on everyone present. Her wisdom, gratitude, positivity and strength of character were evident throughout her presentation, and those who heard her speak will remember her with great admiration.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Emmilia's passing. On behalf of everyone at Preston Cricket Club, we extend our sincere condolences to her partner, family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest in peace, Emmilia.

RIP 🥀😢.

RESTORE BULLANTS MEMORABILIA AND HONOUR BOARDS TO OUR FUNCTION CENTRE

The history of the Bullants is our history.

Over many years, for a variety of reasons, much of our memorabilia has become scattered across different storage locations. Some items have suffered damage, while others are simply no longer visible to our members and visitors.

Our honour boards, many made from heavy timber, are years out of date and difficult to safely remove, update and re-hang. As a result, an important part of our club’s story is no longer being told.

Yet we have so much to celebrate as we can trace our origins back to 1860.

Flags, photographs, heritage bats, premiership team-signed wickets, trophies, honour boards and countless other pieces of Bullants history are currently hidden away rather than proudly displayed for all to see.

I believe it is now time to change that.

My proposal is to establish a dedicated Heritage Restoration
Project to preserve and showcase the proud history of our club. This project would seek expert advice on the best way to restore, protect and display our memorabilia, redesign our honour boards so they can be easily updated, safely stored and re-hung, and create a Function Centre that truly reflects who we are.

The vision includes:
• Professionally restoring and displaying our memorabilia
• Rebuilding and updating honour boards
• Installing display cabinets and secure storage solutions
• Displaying our club flags and historical items
• Professionally painting and presenting the Function Centre in our proud red and white colours
• Creating a space that honours our past and inspires our future
To achieve this, we estimate that we will need to raise approximately $10,000.

The history belongs to all of us. It belongs to every player who has worn a Bullants cap, every volunteer who has given their time, every family member who has supported the club, and every supporter who has stood on the boundary line cheering us on.

I will be establishing a working group to help drive this project and raise the funds required to bring this vision to life.
Imagine walking into our clubrooms and immediately feeling that sense of pride and belonging. Imagine a Function Centre that truly looks like our home, feels like our home, and encourages past players, families, friends and supporters to return, reconnect, view and celebrate our shared history.

If you have ideas, expertise, memorabilia, or would like to help in any way, I would love to hear from you.

Together, let’s preserve our past and build something future
generations of Bullants can be proud of.

Great night with Omar Phillips at our Elite Academy. Omar is one of our international Coaches for the program. Omar is a former West Indies Test cricketer from Barbados who played as a left-hand opening batsman. He played two Test matches for the West Indies in 2009 against Bangladesh, scoring an impressive 94 on debut. Fantastic for the players to be exposed to Omar’s experience

Preston Cricket Club Elite Academy kicked off its first session on Sunday at SmashX, and what a fantastic start it was!

It was great to see the kids enjoying themselves, working hard, and developing their skills in a positive environment. A huge effort from all of our coaches who helped make the session a success.

Special thanks to Fawad Ahmad for his time and support today, sharing his knowledge and experience with our aspiring young spinners.

We’re looking forward to building on today’s great start and can’t wait to see what the rest of the academy sessions have in store.
