Go Greg!
๐ Athlete Spotlight | Meet Greg Armitage
From Melbourne to the Gold Coast, we're excited to welcome Greg Armitage to his first Pan Pacific Masters Games at !
Greg's Masters Swimming journey began on the Sunshine Coast with Noosa Masters before he found his swimming home with Aqualicious, where he enjoyed great support, great people and plenty of reasons to keep swimming. After moving back to Victoria, he joined The Glams, a club known for its personality and strong sense of belonging.
For Greg, Masters Swimming is about much more than racing.
"It keeps me fit, clears my head and gives me something to work towards. The friendships make getting into the pool that much easier."
While this will be his first Pan Pacific Masters Games, he's already made plenty of memories in the sport. His standout achievement was winning his age group in the 2026 Mooloolaba Mile 3km swim.
"There's nothing quite like discovering you've still got another gear!"
At PPMG26, Greg is looking forward to the racing, the atmosphere and catching up with fellow swimmers. A few personal bests would be nice too, but he's confident the laughs are guaranteed. He'll also be cheering on his partner, who will be competing in softball during the Games.
His advice to fellow competitors?
"Race hard, cheer loudly and enjoy yourself. If you see me catching my breath after butterfly, give me a minute, then come and say hello!"
We look forward to welcoming you to your first Pan Pacific Masters Games, Greg!
