I couldn’t be prouder of this team and everything we’ve achieved together.

From shindigs, sausage sizzles, spin classes, raffles to taking on the challenge of riding across the Nullarbor, every single person has contributed with dedication, determination and heart.

Since March last year, we’ve raised more than $40,000 for vital cancer research in Western Australia through Harry Perkins Institute. It’s something I know Naomi would be incredibly proud of.

A huge thank you to Perthfitout for getting the team into uniform and for coming on board as our corporate sponsor for 2026. Your support means the world to us.

As we continue this journey, we’re committed to growing our team and bringing even more love, laughter and compassion to the RIDING TO BEAT CANCER cycling community.

Beautiful day on the bike out in the hills. Ft some punchy gravel single track climbs.

Bunbury- Boyanup- Collie and back via the Munda biddi.

Cant wait to get on the bike next weekend with the whole team.

🚴‍♀️ Just 5 weeks to go until the Cancer200 ride, and Team Hippo have a few tips to help you enjoy the journey!

Whether you’re cruising along with the kids or tackling 11 ride weekends in 6 days, these little reminders will help get you to the start line feeling strong and smiling.

😃Keep it fun!
Mix things up with a new route, a new café stop, or a great group of mates. Cycling is always better with good company and a few laughs along the way.

😮‍💨It’s not all about speed.
You don’t need to cram all your training into one massive ride. The goal is time in the saddle, and those shorter rides all add up. Consistency beats heroics every time.

🥛 🍦 Hydrate and fuel up.
One of the biggest keys to riding further is staying on top of your hydration and nutrition. Keep those bottles full and aim for a little snack every hour. And yes, that absolutely includes stopping for an ice cream. 🍦

🌞 Be sun smart.
Slip, slop, slap. Sunscreen on, cover up where you can, and look after yourself out there.

🔧 Show your bike some love.
A little maintenance goes a long way. Keep it clean, keep it serviced, and it’ll look after you when the kilometres start adding up. Plus, nobody likes a squeaky bike.

☺️ Comfort is king.
If you’re comfortable on your bike, you’re going to enjoy your riding so much more. Happy body, happy rider.

And finally, just in case we haven’t said it enough...
🕺 🎉 Have fun! That’s what it’s all about. Enjoy the training, enjoy the challenge, and enjoy every kilometre along the way and most importantly the reason why you ride.

Team Hippo would like to thank all those who came along Cycle Co. Spin Studio last Friday to help us crush cancer. It was a fun night for everyone and a great little training session for the upcoming Cancer200 ride. We also had some great prizes gifted to us generously by the following General Public Food Co, My Ride Osborne Park and alchemy saunas.

A huge thank you for Cycle Co. Spin Studio for helping us put on this event.

Today we have reached over $21,000 for the year which is huge and we are so grateful for all the support.

Team Hippo, are throwing our first Shindig this weekend. After our Team Captain Ash rode 2200km across Australia in 6.5 days, now is the time for a pint to celebrate the achievement. We’ll have games, raffles and prizes. If you’d like to pop in and support the fundraising efforts, all are welcome 🥰

As only Ash can, he ventured out solo today to try and get as much from himself as he could.
The incredible journey of 2,213 km in 6 days and 14 hours from Saturday morning in Trigg in the clutches of a cyclone to exhaustion on the other side of the Nullarbor just before Port Augusta on the side of the road. Ash made sure that every last drop of mental and physical battery was depleted.
This has taken a superhuman effort and the team are incredibly proud of Ash and are all recovering in Port Augusta.
The support in followers, messages, and most incredibly donations has been truly incredible and we can’t wait to continue building on these efforts.

This isn’t the end of Team Hippo, only the beginning.

Introducing the last and definitely least welcome members of the crew, the horseflies. They come in the hundreds, bite hard and can pe*****te from all angles (picture 3).
