Team Racemods

Team Racemods XE Falcon Sports Sedan racing circuits around Australia This allows loads of freedoms in the gear box, body selection and classic construction.

Team Racemods is run by a crew of super dedicated family and friends with a love and passion of the sport that keeps us hooked. We are running a highly modified 1984 bodied XE Ford Falcon with a l98 Chev 6 ltr on 330mm wide rear slicks with 310mm wide up front we have pushed the development of the car to the point where we are now getting up to speeds of 300kph and testing our team in several stat

es around Australia. It runs in State and National Sports Sedans a 70 year old category with a 6ltr engine capacity limit and the car needs to look similar to a road going version. Racing since 2011 we have won 5 x WA State championships, travelling interstate and stepping up to the national level racing in 2022 where we had front row start at Winton VIC and finished 2nd at Bathurst in NSW.

What started as fitting a few hoses on the new Mustang Sports Sedan quickly snowballed into a much bigger job than expected. Thankfully the team at Tune Corp sorted us out with a set of custom-crimped BMR hoses to keep the project moving.
Next up were the coolers and fresh Penrite fluids, but somehow the to-do list seemed to be getting longer instead of shorter. Knowing we needed a big push, John flew over from Queensland and absolutely smashed out a huge weekend in the workshop. We also had some emergency weekend machining from Silverise Pty Ltd and another top-quality TIG welding job from Mike to keep everything progressing.
A cool drive by wire motor from Jon Grove Engines all hooked up and at last, we were ready to turn our attention to the MoTeC M1 system. After getting everything programmed, it was time to fire the Mustang up and give it a quick tune. And once again, Shannon and Tune Corp pulled out all the stops, stacking up the overtime to get the D3 singing and help getting the beast ready to hit the track.

The next stage of the build was getting the bodywork sorted.
We finished the internal ally panels and Sam Vulcan Panel and Paint put the finishing touches to them all as well as helping us sort out the chassis paint touch ups.
John from WA Race Car Fibreglass worked his magic, neatening up the exterior panels and making a bunch of moulds. The quality of the work he pumps out has really helped bring the car to the next level.
Once the bodywork was complete, Brian organised the paintwork through Wayne Holmes Panel and Paint, transforming the car from a collection of parts into something that finally looked race ready.
From there, attention turned to the wiring. Nearly 200 metres of wiring later, along with countless hours of planning, routing and terminating, the electrical system was finally taking shape. As always, Shannon at Tune Corp provided a huge amount of support, advice and a load of Motec goodies, helping us get everything where it needed to be.
With the wiring complete, we could finally move on to programming and bringing all the systems to life.

The team has been quietly working away on our new TA1 Mustang Sports Sedan project in the background, and we're excited to see it all finally coming together.
The car was originally started by Brian and built by the crew at Riverside Racing back in 2014, who completed the core design work along with the chassis and body fabrication. It then made its way to WA in a few years later and late last year we were fortunate enough to convince Brian to let us take on the challenge of finishing what was already a fantastic foundation.
To bring it to life, we tracked down a low-mileage 2007 built 6ltr V8 Ford engine in Canada and shipped it to Australia. With a huge amount of support from Michael Malcolm, EFI Hardware, Phillip and Tune Corp, we converted the package to EFI and began piecing everything together.
The rest of driveline also needed plenty of attention. Holinger rebuilt and modified the gearbox, custom components were sourced from the States, and the diff was rebuilt to complete the package. It all sounds quick and easy when written in a few paragraphs, but every custom part, modification and decision took a lot of time, effort and support from a lot of good people.
The end result is starting look pretty good and we're looking forward to sharing more of the build over the coming weeks.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Friday happen! Seven days ago, this was just going to be a quick stop to show the Silverise team the cars I’ve been talking about for the last 10 years (plus enough snaggers to feed 10 people). Before long, Malcolm took the idea and turned it into a full-on Silverise Open Day. What an incredible event it turned out to be!
Special shoutout to Brian for selling us the Riverside Racing built car and helping organize the tilt-tray transport while we build a matching trailer. The local support has been completely overwhelming and deeply appreciated.
Thanks to everyone who came out to check out the new build. We can't wait to get her out on the track and see what she can do.
Info and details about the build and the mass amounts of help we have had to come.

A big thanks to the team and track staff and volunteers for a great raceday up wanneroo.
We were the only team in the small field to gamble on the wett tryes on a drying track for qually and it definitely paid off, grabbing pole by a big margin.
Race 1 again we had the car in a good window and grabbed the win.
Race 2 didnt quite have the pace and got tapped ran wide into a spin finished 5th
Race 3 got a slow start and took a couple of laps to get the rhythm going but ran put of laps to close up on Walter finishing in second.
Was good to have three different winners for the 3 races.
The poor neglected Falcon has a list of issues for us to get to at some stage, but she does enough to gst us to the finish line each time even when the focus has been on her replacement.
Cool ai poster from Corey Hodgetts.

Very eventfull day, that ended all good.
We got pole with a good lap, race 1 had a spin on the out lap, race 2 slow into turn 1 and got to close to a Porsche but minor danage and we battled all race, race 3 was a short spint to catch back up on the timetable.
Ended up with 3 wins and a few broken bits but nothing to magor.
Elloise did a fantastic job as solo team member and keeping the driver somewhat inline.
Awesome work by all Collie volunteers and staff on another ripper event.
