Men’s shed day tomorrow if any of like minded gents are looking for something to do! Plenty of odd jobs, coffee, banter and BS included !!

Reminder that this coming Wednesday the 9th Sept 2026 is our next Men’s Shed Day at Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway, kicking off anytime from 8:30am through to early afternoon, lots of chitter chatter, some BS, some Motorsport chat, and a few odd jobs to do! Some painting, some whipper snipper if (feel free to bring your own) or just hang about! All welcome, snag on the BBQ at lunchtime.

Baskerville has proven to be a great equaliser when it comes to car size and power, and owners of smaller guys embrace the benefits. One of 4 Group C Escorts entered for 2026 is a very special RS2000. Being number 24 of 25 Mk2 RS2000’s imported from Germany in 1976 by Ford Australia, it was 1 of 2 cars allocated to Coach Craft Ford in Queensland for John English. Having competed in the Australian Touring Car Championship for 3 years it was eventually sold off. Long time Victorian RS2000 enthusiast Adil Jemali saw the opportunity and purchased the car after it sat idle for many years and has recently taken to competing within the Heritage Touring Car ranks. Our event has a very strong small Ford following and we hope they enjoy seeing these special Escorts back on the track.

Arguably the most iconic of all Bathurst privateers were the pairing of Trevor Ashby and Steve Reed. Their 1987 VL Group A Commodore, built from a Holden Motorsport shell by Wally Storey for the Sydney based Lansvale Smash Repairs team went on to finish 10th outright in Bathurst 87. After a couple of more seasons it was sold off to reality TV pioneer, Laurie Donaher of Sylvania Waters for his and son Mick’s campaigns between 1990 and 92. The car made its way to NZ for life as a Sports Sedan before being restored back into Group A specs and brought back to Australia in 2023. Making its debut at the Baskerville Historics in the hands of owner Don Dimitriadis, who doesn’t love a good ol V8 VL Walkinshaw ?

We have been so excited to be able to share this news, but now is the time! The 1991 Bathurst winning Nissan GTR will be racing at the 2026 Baskerville Historics. We cannot thank Tony Alford enough for bringing the car out of Bathurst Motor Museum, and having the car readied to be driven again. OMG how exciting, we either loved them or hated them back in the day, but now 30+ years on, I think we all can appreciate what an awesome piece of kit they were. October 16-18th, 2026, Bulk Nutrients Baskerville Raceway, don’t miss it!

It's happening next month...

Our next feature car for the Heritage Touring Car field for this years Baskerville Historics is the BMW E36 318i 2 litre Super Touring Car of Trevor Sheumack. Starting life as a BMW Motorsport Factory car, the car was built for BMW legend Steve Soper to compete in the BTCC, finishing runner up in the championship. It then went on to compete in the 1993 World Touring Car Cup event in Monza in the hands of another BMW legend, Johnny Cecotto, which livery the car is currently presented in. It then went on to be the Paul Morris Diet Coke BMW for 1994, eventually finding its way to NZ. The car returned to Australia a couple of years ago and now competes with the Heritage Touring Cars at selected Historic events across Australia. We are really pleased that Trevor has elected to compete in this years Baskerville Historics in such an iconic car.

Are you from Interstate, wanting to enter Baskerville Historics 2026, but left your run too late to book on the Spirit??
Well, we have become aware of a booking that’s been made for the event, that is now not required and the custodian of that booking is happy to transfer it to a new owner!
The booking is from Melb to Devonport Wednesday the 14th, and departing Devonport Monday 19th.
There is plenty of time to enter the event so no issue there!
