VALE RON HOBDEN - The New England Rugby Union joins the wider Rugby Union Community in passing on our condolences to the friends and family of Ron Hobden

Ron was a member of the Robb College Rugby Union Football Club from 2006-2009. Ron won perpetual awards while at Robb including the Morse Shield player of the final series and was a member of the 2006 Robb College Colts team that won the Carruthers cup that year.

Ron represented New England in both colts and mens in his time at New England, forming part of a formidable New England Mens side that won the Richardson Shield in 2008 and were runners up in 2009.

Ron while at Robb College also represented NSW Country in both the Colts and Senior Mens. He was awarded a full blue from the University of New England in 2009 for his achievements in rugby.

After his time in Armidale Ron took his football to the big smoke, where he was a capped Shute Shield player for Gordon Rugby Union Club

Ron is remembered as an incredibly talented footballer, but an even better person who gave his all for club and zone.
