Have you ever noticed a horse at an ABHA event wearing a blue ribbon in its mane or tail?

That blue ribbon is an important safety identifier. It lets fellow competitors, spectators and event officials know that the horse is a stallion.

As a reminder, under ABHA rules:

𝘙𝘶𝘭𝘦 31: 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘸𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘭𝘶𝘦 𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘣𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥/𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴.

This simple ribbon helps everyone remain aware and promotes a safer environment for horses and riders at our events.

If you’re competing with a stallion, please ensure your blue ribbon is clearly visible at all times.

🚨 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 🚨

The 𝗔𝗕𝗛𝗔 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 is officially open for stallion enrolments, now supported by a streamlined online entry platform designed for fast and efficient submissions.

Stallion owners can choose to donate a service fee or pay their stallion in, with proceeds directly contributing to the prize money pool that will be paid out at the 2026 ABHA National Finals this September.

This initiative is open to all stallions, not only those in the barrel racing arena, and offers exceptional visibility across the ABHA’s highest‑traffic channels, including national event communications, digital campaign placements, and our rapidly growing online member network.
