The Mid-Year Check-in
For many of us, June means it’s getting proper cold, we have to do some tax planning or it’s a busy finish to the financial year. But it also means we’re halfway through 2026, and for me, it’s a good time to check in on how the year is shaping up.
Back in January, lots of us started the year with goals, plans and good intentions. Some big, some small, some written down clearly and others maybe just sitting in the back of our minds.
So as we glare at the calendar on the fridge that now says June...how’s it looking? Are you where you hoped you’d be by this point of the year? Are the habits and routines you wanted to build actually happening?
Or have a few things slipped a little?
If they have, that’s okay. This isn’t about beating yourself up or throwing the towel in because things haven’t gone perfectly. It’s about checking in without rose coloured glasses, and deciding what happens next.
If you’re on track and moving well...happy days. Keep going!
But if some goals have drifted or the wheels have fallen off a bit, now’s the time to recalibrate...make sure those goals still matter enough to you, that they align with your values, and if they do, refocus and start putting some action behind them again.
Maybe it’s a few small changes to your day to help build better habits. Maybe it’s a bigger challenge to stop doing something...or finally start.
Whatever it looks like for you, make sure it’s moving you closer toward the bigger picture. Because six months from now, you’ll either be glad you recommitted...or wishing you had.
