Mooloolah Players star at World Championships!!

The first International World Walking Football World Championships to be held in the Southern Hemisphere was held in Brisbane at the end of last month. We are proud to announce that several of our regular Mooloolah walking football players took part, with our own Clive May coaching Australia to become the inaugural winners of the Over 75 men’s category. Other regular Mooloolah participants were Robbie and Mhairi Glover and Peter Woods. Well done to all.

The age category medal winners were:

Women’s 40s

Women’s 50s
Champions: Sweden
Runners Up: England

Women’s 55s
Champions: Australia
Runners Up: Forvik

Women’s 60s
Champions: Norway

📣Referee Spotlight Series📣

Meet Grayson, one of our amazing junior referees helping keep our games fair and fun! At just 13 years old, Grayson already shows great leadership on the field - confident with the whistle, proud to wear the uniform, and passionate about helping younger players learn the game.

💬 Why did you decide to referee?
“I was inspired by friends who were referees and it’s exciting that my first paid job is doing something I love!”

💬 What do you like best about refereeing?
“Meeting new people and helping the kids on the ¾ field understand the rules better , that’s my favourite age group to referee.”

💬 What do you like least?
“The pressure to make the right calls… and it can be a bit sad when coaches or parents get upset with me.”

👟 A reminder to everyone on the sidelines:
Our referees are part of the soccer family, they’re learning, growing, and giving back to the game. The person with the whistle could be your own child, sibling, or friend. Let’s show them the same respect and encouragement we’d want for our own kids. 💙🧡

💙 National Volunteer Week 💙

This week we celebrate the incredible volunteers who keep our club running every single week. From coaches, managers, committee members, canteen helpers, line markers, BBQ crews, photographers, field setup, laundry, fundraising and everything in between — our club simply wouldn’t exist without you.

Thank you for the early mornings, late nights, muddy shoes, endless emails, washing uniforms, setting up fields, cheering on players and giving your time so generously for our kids and community.

Volunteers are the heart of grassroots soccer ⚽
