🔥💙 COACH OF THE YEAR NOMINEE — OUR AMI! 💙🔥

She may not have taken home the trophy, but there was never any question for us — Ami is absolutely a winner in Flames eyes. 🥹🔥

This year, Ami took on something incredibly special: building and coaching our brand-new NetSetGO Caspers team, the Fireflies. 🧚‍♀️✨

Every single Firefly came to us having never played netball before, and Ami welcomed each of them exactly as they were.

She adapted drills, communication and coaching styles to meet her players where they were, making sure every child had the opportunity to participate, learn, build confidence and — most importantly — have FUN.

She didn’t just teach them how to play netball.

She created a team where every child knew they belonged. 💙

Week after week, Ami poured countless hours into training, game days and supporting her players and their families. She gave everything she had to making sure the Fireflies had the best possible introduction to our sport — one built on encouragement, inclusion, confidence and celebrating every little win.

And THAT is what coaching is about. 🥹

But the Fireflies are only part of her impact.

Ami also assistant coached our Division 8 team, helped run senior training sessions, coached umpires on Saturdays and consistently supported every child on the court — Flames or opposition — because helping young players learn, grow and love netball has always mattered more to her than the scoreboard.

And somehow, amongst all of that, she still found time to be our Registrar, help at fundraisers and events and be one of those people who simply says “yep, I can help” whenever Flames needs something. 🔥

So while the official title of Coach of the Year went elsewhere, being nominated was recognition of something we already knew.

Ami, you created an opportunity for kids to discover netball, find their confidence, make friends and experience what it means to be part of a team.

You gave them somewhere to belong.

And you showed all of us exactly what an incredible coach looks like.

🔥🤍 UMPIRE CONVENOR OF THE YEAR — YEAH, THAT’S OUR BOSS LADY. 🤍🔥

Sorry but we’re going to need everyone to make some NOISE because our President AND Umpires Convenor, Nicole Marchbank, has just been named 2026 Convenor of the Year. 🏆🔥

And the receipts are RECEIPTING. 👀

Nicole started the season with 3 umpires and a mission to grow Team White.

One season later:

Macarthur Flames Team White really said ✨growth era✨.

But here’s the thing — Nicole has never been interested in collecting umpires just to fill a roster.

She values them.

She wants them learning. She wants them developing. She wants them confident enough to back themselves. And most importantly, she wants them to succeed. 🤍

When Nicole knows one of her umpires has put in the work and deserves their shot at a badge, she backs them to go for it.

No gatekeeping. No holding people back. No making someone wait around just because “that’s how it’s always been done”.

Because every one of those five badges represents hours on court, coaching, feedback, persistence, nerves, development and a whole lot of hard work from the umpire wearing it.

Meanwhile, Nicole has somehow done all of this while also completing the minor side quest of RUNNING THE ENTIRE CLUB AS PRESIDENT.

🏐“I’m a netball player, of course I…” made it to Macarthur Flames and we immediately became insufferable about it. 💀🔥

Because doing the trend normally??? Couldn’t be us.

We gave every position a voice and honestly that was our first mistake.

GA had thoughts.
GK had thoughts.
The mids were doing mid things.
And don’t even start us on those unhinged WDs!
Everyone was FAR too comfortable in front of the camera.

Zero media training.
Maximum commitment to the bit.
Digital footprint absolutely COOKED. 😭

This has been sitting in the archives for a hot minute and honestly??? It still slaps.

The knees may be Masters-aged, but the behaviour absolutely is not.

Because this is no longer giving “local netball club”.

This is giving ✨franchise✨.
This is giving media day.
This is giving someone check our broadcast rights.
This is giving WHY IS THERE NOT A DOCUMENTARY CREW FOLLOWING US?!

The angles? Epic.
The slow-mo? CINEMA.
The girls? Absolutely understood the assignment.
The Flames branding? Suddenly worth millions.

Reana’s Sports Imagery came through with the camera and apparently decided Macarthur Flames needed its professional sporting era.

And we support that decision wholeheartedly. 🫡

Grassroots netball has genuinely never looked this expensive.

🚨 GRAND FINAL: THAT’S A WRAP. 🚨

Not quite the ending we ordered, but WOW did the girls make a game of it. 🔥

Going into the fourth quarter there was ONE. GOAL. IN. IT.

Yes. ONE. 😭

The stress? Unnecessary.
The heart rates? Questionable.
The fight from these ladies? UNREAL.

Against a team that went undefeated all season, our ladies produced their best performance against them all year and made them work right until that final whistle.

Today just wasn’t ours.

But every single Flames lady on that court can walk away knowing she gave absolutely everything she had. When the legs got heavy, they kept going. When the pressure was on, they kept fighting. And when there was nothing left in the tank… somehow they found a little more. ❤️‍🔥

And a HUGE shoutout to OUR SIDELINE. 📣

You showed up.
You got LOUD.
And when we needed lifting, you lifted us.

We heard every cheer, every clap and every slightly unhinged sideline yell. 😂

Thank you for being our 8th player today. 🖤❤️

So yes, we leave Grand Final day with silver. 🥈

But we also leave knowing we took the undefeated team to their closest battle of the season and were one goal away heading into the final quarter.

And Bluejays?

Undefeated season + Grand Final win means they’re officially off to Div 6 next year.

Congrats on the promotion, besties. BYEEEEEE. 👋😂
