The Kangaroos would like to thank and acknowledge the massive support we receive off Sydney Tourist Park located at Caringbah.

Sydney Tourist Park is the major sponsor of our third grade team co coached by great clubman Aaron Dodds and Joshy Smith.

A great friend and supporter of the Roos for many years is owner Peter Coulter who runs a magnificent tourism park where campers and motor homes can stay for either short or long term.

We are hoping to see Big Pete at the sponsors day on June 28 at Fullwood where it hopefully doesn’t clash with his Cronulla Sharks playing just up the road from his fantastic tourist park.

How good is the incredible media coverage our club and the Wests Macarthur competition enjoy.

On Saturday our game was covered extensively and live by Macarthur Chronicle, Macarthur Radio and BARTV.

We had supporters watching the game live from Tywyn on the Welsh coast, Brora in the Scottish Highlands and in Wellington New Zealand.

Frustrating afternoon at Dudley Chesham Oval yesterday with the Roos First grade going down 28-16 and reserve grade playing out a 16 all draw.

First Grade was very even for the first half an hour before three tries in 8 minutes had The Oaks 18-0 up.
The Roos returned serve early in the second half with three quick tries to be down 18-16 before The Oaks crossed in the 74th minute.
The first grade clash was a high quality game with young half Luke Tiberti and strike centre Lucius Maliaga outstanding in the blue and gold.

Roos Reserve grade are their own worst enemies at the moment with too many drop balls and penalties conceded making it hard on themselves.
Kenjah Levu and Asi Manu were both solid performers in a team that when they do click will be very hard to beat.

We would like to thank the big contingent of Kangaroos supporters who headed up The Burragorang this long weekend to support both Kangaroos teams.

This week’s Flashback Friday feature celebrates two of the finest brothers to ever wear the blue and gold, 2017 Premiership winners Jhy and Jett Karam.

Campbelltown City royalty, the Karam brothers played pivotal roles in securing the club’s 11th First Grade premiership and remain two of the most respected players of the club’s modern era.

In any era, winning a premiership as a halfback is no easy feat. During a period dominated by powerhouse Picton and Thirlmere sides, Jhy Karam’s calm leadership, organisation and physical defence were instrumental in guiding the Kangaroos to premiership success in 2017. Joining the club in 2014, Jhy would spend six seasons at Fullwood Reserve and leave a lasting impact on the playing group and club culture.

As for Jett Karam, many good judges still regard him as the most naturally gifted footballer of the club’s modern era. While no one ever seems likely to challenge Chris Williamson for loyalty, longevity or overall contribution, there are few players who could do what Jett was able to do on a football field.

Joining the club and his brother in 2016 after a serious knee injury, Jett showed glimpses of his enormous potential in a season remembered for the famous Ron Kain Cup victory at Fullwood Reserve. Even then, it was clear the Kangaroos had secured a special talent.

Twelve months later, Jett took the competition by storm. His 2017 season was one of the finest individual campaigns of recent memory, culminating in a premiership but somehow not a Group 6 Player of the Year award. Following the grand final triumph, he moved on to Mounties and looked destined for higher honours through the Canberra Raiders pathway before a cruel run of knee injuries interrupted what promised to be an outstanding career.

The 2017 premiership side remains one of the most celebrated teams in club history and the contributions of the Karam brothers were central to that success.

This week’s Throwback Thursday feature is Alan “George” Beckman.

A Reserve Grade premiership winner in 2010, Al spent more than five seasons in Kangaroos colours and earned a reputation as one of the toughest pound-for-pound players to pull on the jersey. Despite giving away plenty in size, he never took a backward step and consistently performed above his weight in first grade.

Alan is also part of one of the great Campbelltown City families. Alongside his parents Peter and Ann, he has been a longstanding supporter and sponsor of the club, contributing far more than what appeared on the team sheet each weekend.

Those who were around the club during the mid-2010s will remember plenty of stories involving Al and the close-knit group that helped keep the Kangaroos moving through some challenging seasons. The “Dalton Crew” were the backbone of the club, turning up every week, giving everything they had on the field and then enjoying a beer and a Chinese feed at the Court Tavern on a Sunday night.

Tomorrow, in our Flashback Friday post, we feature a pair of 2017 Premiership heroes whose success was built on the foundations laid by men like Alan Beckman. Players who tried their guts out for the club, never asked for recognition and left the jersey in a better place than they found it.

A reminder to all former players, supporters and sponsors that our Old Roos and Sponsors Day will be held on Sunday 28 June at Fullwood Reserve when the Kangaroos take on Mittagong. We look forward to welcoming past and present members of the Kangaroos family back to the club for a great day of rugby league.

Old Roos & Sponsors day is looking absolutely massive this year when we host longtime rivals Mittagong Lions on 28 June at Fullwood Reserve.

There is a big contingent of ex players flying in for the weekend and staying locally after last years big day was cancelled due to torrential thunderstorms and game cancellations.

We need you to pass the message on to any Old Roos that aren’t on social media that the big annual day is on June 28.
