Every great club needs someone to manage the books, and for another season, we have the absolute best in the business. Meet our master of finances, Club Treasurer Adam Weston! 🏦

Adam is the man responsible for keeping the lights on, the bar stocked, and our club finances perfectly balanced. From managing membership fees to tracking match-day revenue and representing us at the broader Chelsea Sports Club board, Adam ensures our club remains sustainable for generations of Seagulls to come.

🔥 CHELSEA CC BUNNINGS BBQ — VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🔥

Chelsea Cricket Club is firing up the BBQ again at Bunnings Keysborough on Sunday 6th September — and we need a few more legends to help us out! 🏏🔥

We’re looking for 6 more volunteers to fill the following three sessions:
🕚 OPEN – 11:00am 👉 3 Volunteers Required
🍔 11:00am – 2:00pm 👉 1 x Volunteer Required
🌭 2:00pm – CLOSE 👉 2 x Volunteers Required

Each shift will have five volunteers covering:�
👨‍🍳 Chief Cook�
💰 Money Handler�
🍔 2 × Servers�
📦 Restock & Food/Drink Prep

A special thanks to Club Legend, Doc, who has taken on the prestigious role of our “BBQ Skipper” for the day, keeping the operation running smoothly from start to finish! 🫡🔥

💥🏏 CHELSEA CC BLASTERS — 2026/27 SEASON IS HERE! 🏏💥

Get ready, Chelsea! Blasters Cricket is back and we’re kicking off the 2026/27 season at 5pm, Friday 16 October at Chelsea Recreation Reserve — and registrations are now OPEN! 🙌

Whether they’re picking up a bat for the first time or already love cricket, boys and girls of all abilities are welcome. Blasters is all about having fun, making friends, building confidence and learning some great cricket skills along the way. 💙🏏

⭐ And this season, we’re taking it up a level!
Chelsea CC is incredibly excited to have accredited coaches and trainers leading our Blasters program, helping our young cricketers develop their skills in a fun, safe and supportive environment. ⭐

🏏 MEET THE COMMITTEE ( #2/12): NATALIE RUTLAND (SECRETARY) 🏏

Next up in our meet the committee spotlight is someone who needs little introduction around Chelsea CC—Life Member and returning committee member, Natalie Rutland!

Natalie has been a valued part of the Chelsea Cricket Club family for many years, serving multiple terms on the committee and making a lasting contribution to our club and it’s wonderful culture.

We’re thrilled to welcome Natalie back to the committee as our Secretary. Her experience, knowledge of the club and commitment to the Seagulls make her a fantastic person to have helping guide the club forward.

🏏 MEET THE COMMITTEE: ANTHONY BURGESS (PRESIDENT) 🏏

Seagulls fans, it’s time to feature the captain of our ship!

Today we are introducing our tireless Club President, Anthony Burgess.

Anthony lives and breathes Chelsea Cricket Club. When he isn’t leading committee meetings, coordinating with local councils, or securing club sponsorships, you can find him out on the pitch wearing whites and captaining our lower-grade senior sides. He leads by example both in the boardroom and out on the field.

A Chelsea Cricket Club Life Member and all round good bloke, we’re bloody lucky to have him lead this great club again this season.

Give it up for El Presidente! Thank you, Anthony, for steering the Seagulls toward another massive summer of cricket. 💙🦅

🚂 Toot Toot - Josh White Recommits 🚂

After an outstanding 2025/26 campaign which saw much loved club stalwart, Josh “Chugga” White, rewrite the history books with one of the all time great individual seasons, we’re thrilled to announce that Josh has recommitted to the club (never in doubt) for season 2026/27.

Featuring a combined total of 28 2nd & 4th XI games, Josh piled on 583 runs @ 34.29 (inc a maidan century - 104) whilst also claiming a staggering 40 wickets @ 12.88 (inc career best & match winning figures of 5/31).

Josh was a constant match winner for both his Saturday and Sunday teams, highlighted by helping the 4th XI play off in the big dance..

Josh is a wonderful leader and represents the club with the highest level of integrity and sportsmanship. He is always working on his craft and eager to work on ways to better his game.

Congratulations Chug - here’s to an even bigger and better 2026/27!! 🏏 💙🤍🏏

👑 THE KING RETURNS! 👑

Known by his teammates as the King of Chelsea, we’re thrilled to announce that Sahan “Lappy” Lakpriya has recommitted to the club — and we couldn’t be happier!

A 1st XI Premiership player, Lappy has already racked up an impressive 87 1st XI games, 1,320 runs (HS 122) and 122 wickets. A genuine match-winner with both bat and ball, he’s the kind of player who can change a game in a moment.

Lappy’s consistency week in, week out is a testament to his dedication, work ethic and commitment to the club, both on and off the field.

The committee, sponsors, teammates and supporters are all delighted to see Lappy recommit to Chelsea for season 2026/27.

Here’s to plenty more runs, wickets and big moments ahead, Lappy! 👑🏏🔥

Seagulls fans, another massive summer of cricket is just around the corner at Beardsworth Avenue!

While our players are busy dusting off their pads and hitting the pre-season nets, there is an incredible team of people who have been working hard all winter behind the scenes. From managing finances and running our thriving junior pathways to organizing social events and setting our on-field coaching strategies, these legends keep the Chelsea Cricket Club flying high.
