Social media lady signing off

A big thank you to all of our members and supporters who have at some point in time got behind my work over our social media channels. I’ve been lucky enough to run the club socials for many years now, and over that time I’ve received a lot of support trialling videos, new graphics and a bunch of other stuff.

It’s now time to sign off as a new committee takes its place for the coming season. To Mini and the team, thanks for entrusting me with the clubs messaging and brand over a long period of time. It’s been a lot of fun!

Go Big Cats! 🦁💪

LIFE MEMBERSHIP - ROWAN HALL

After receiving a nomination at our recent AGM, the club would like to congratulate long-time club volunteer and player Rowan Hall on receiving life membership. Rowan has been a member of the club for more than 20 years, participating in the men's program at various levels across his time, including many Premierships.

However, it is his work off the field that shows just how much he loves the club. Rowser has played many roles including more than 20 years on the committee carrying out various tasks including (but not limited to) the website, canteen and bar support, club and team coach, junior program volunteer, photographer, and much more.

Please join us in congratulating Rowser on becoming just the 21st life member of the Springvale Lions Baseball Club.

We would like to thank everyone who attended our AGM on Monday evening. It was an excellent turnout showing just how motivated the club are to continue progressing at all levels. The club would also like to say a huge thank you to our outgoing committee members from 25/26 who gave up many hours of their time to assist the Big Cats - Bronwyn Gell, Shae Lillywhite and Simone Wearne.

As we prepare for a huge 2026/27 summer season, we now welcome our new committee into place. A great group who will represent the club well both on and off the field. Please join us in welcoming our new committee for the coming season. Big things to come!

Help support the club!

We don’t need everyone to nominate for the committee, and we don’t expect everyone to have the time or availability to contribute every week like some of our other volunteers do.

But….your attendance at the AGM shows your support for the club and helps us best prepare for the future. So, get along and join the Big Cats on Monday at the Waltzy.

Meeting from 7.30-8.30pm on Monday 25th @ Waltzy
Dinner for those interested from 6pm 🦁🙌

Please share this post or tag your mates who don’t usually come along or who might have forgotten about it 😀

3 CHEERS TO THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS

Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our club, and we have some of the best there is! As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, we want to say thank you to all who help make our club such a great place to be.

They give up their time, some hundreds of hours across the year, but it's more than that. They give us their passion, their commitment and their care. We genuinely couldn't put teams on the field without them.

Thanks isn't enough, but we'll say it anyway. A huge thank you to all of you who continue to give your time. Whether it be an hour here or there, or a long-term commitment of many hours per week, year upon year. You're all important, and we see you.

To all of the Big Cats mums, both on and off the field, Happy Mother’s Day!

BACK WHERE SHE BELONGS

It's official. Bronwyn Gell will wear the green and gold again in 2026, with selection to the Emeralds team for the upcoming World Cup qualification event to be held in the USA.

Having already been at five World Cups, Bron brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to a team looking to qualify for the official World Cup tournament to be held in 2027. After a career season in 2025/26 with the Big Cats that included taking out the Premier League pitching trophy (ERA), this tops off a stellar year for Bron who will play a pivotal role for the Emeralds.

This is big. For Bron, for the Big Cats, and for the Emeralds who missed the cut at the last qualifier. Get after it Bron, you have a huge Big Cats contingent right behind you. Further details regarding dates and streaming will be provided soon 🦁💪⚾️💛💚

Thank you, Bron.

After taking herself and the program to great heights in 2025/26, Bron has let us know she'll be stepping down as Head Coach of the Women's Program next season.

Words aren't enough to thank Bron for all of her time and dedication to the program, and the club last season. In one of the all-time great individual seasons where she led the Women's Firsts in both pitching (ERA) and batting (AVERAGE), Bron also helped the club secure two Premierships in our Women's Firsts and Seconds.

We thank Bron for her time working with all of our players, from Firsts through Fourths, and having the patience to nurture everyone - no matter their age, skill level, or goals. It is not an easy task.

We're pumped to see Bron back on the diamond roaming the infield (and on the mound) next season. Details on a new Head Coach will be confirmed over the coming weeks 🦁
