Thank a Superintendent’s Day
Ever wondered what goes into getting a golf course ready for play each day?
For our Superintendent and the MMPGC maintenance team, the day starts well before most golfers arrive.
It’s early mornings, checking weather and course conditions, assessing greens, tees and fairways, planning the day’s work and making decisions that can change by the hour.
Then there’s mowing, watering, machinery, bunkers, weeds, drainage, repairs, presentation and all the little things that golfers may never notice — but certainly notice when they’re not done.
And that’s the point.
Great course presentation doesn’t happen by accident. It comes from experience, planning, teamwork and a dedicated crew who take pride in what they do.
At MMPGC, our maintenance team works behind the scenes every day to make sure the course is ready for our members, visitors and community.
So next time you’re enjoying a great run of greens or a beautifully presented fairway, spare a thought for the team who were probably here hours before you were.
