In what was an important game in the context of their season, the boys started strong and settled into what appeared to be a very clear game plan. The previous weeks bye gave some niggling injuries a rest and it showed. By half time the boys had skipped out to a handy lead, however Southerners, as they always do, re-grouped and piled on the pressure in the third quarter and narrowed the margin.
The message to the group from Rawso at the final break was blunt, we needed to finish the game strongly. Perhaps the most impressive thing was the response from the playing group, piling on 8 goals in the final term to cap off a strong win against a side equally in contention for a finals spot at the end of the year.
At the half way point of our season now and the signs are positive, slowly building, trusting that our best is good enough and our development of new players is on track. If we continue to work on consistency in our game, we can build into a stronger second half of the year.

Our Reserves had a win after Southerners forfeited the game. This gave our boys a chance to put all their energy into loud support of our League side. Perhaps they made the difference in the end. With another bye this coming weekend, it's more important than ever to get to training to maintain some match fitness moving into the second half of the season.

After a week off, our colts took on ladder leaders Southerners in what turned out to be perfect conditions for football. The first term was high intensity football, both sides desperate to gain the ascendency and although slightly wasteful in front of goals, our boys ended the quarter with a narrow lead.
From here on it seemed as though something just 'clicked'. With probably the best display of team football our colts have shown for a long time, they extended the margin at every change to take a solid win. Their energy, willingness to work, hard running, and growing confidence in eachother was fantastic to watch. With every player contributing, it's a good sign going into the second half of the year.

The Year 8/9 team played exceptionally well as a unit, consistently looking for opportunities to involve every teammate and support one another on the field. It was fantastic to see the skills and concepts they've been working on at training reflected in their game style and decision-making throughout the day. Keep up the great work, team.
A successful club relies on everyone contributing, both on and off the field. It was wonderful to see our junior players stepping up and helping with the jobs that keep game days running smoothly.

The Year 6/7 team faced a tough challenge this week, coming up against a strong Southerners side that started the game well and maintained their composure throughout the day. The team used the game as an opportunity to learn and improve.
One of the highlights after the game was seeing the players sit down together with their coach to watch the Year 8/9 team. They were keen to observe what the older players were doing well and identify skills, teamwork, and game strategies they could bring into their own matches.
Keep working hard, supporting each other, and taking every opportunity to learn. Your progress will continue to show as the season goes on.

Our younger junior teams travelled to Boyup Brook for a Friday night carnival. A big thank you to all the families who made the trip and supported the players, it was fantastic to see such a great turnout. The Superkick kids loved the spacious oval setup and enjoyed the opportunity to play against four different teams in one evening, giving them plenty of chances to learn, develop, and have fun.
The Year 4/5 team put on another great display of skill, effort, and teamwork. One of the standout qualities of this group is the way they support each other in every situation. Whether it's playing hard and including everyone on the field, cheering their teammates on from the sidelines, or filling in for other teams when needed, they consistently show great sportsmanship and club spirit. They are a wonderful group of kids who are always entertaining to watch, and they continue to represent the club with pride. Well done, everyone!
