Champion of Champions – Australian Championship 2026 | Gold Coast

A huge congratulations to Olivia! ✨

Qualifying for and competing in the highest level championship in Australia—is an incredible achievement. Dancers from across the country come together for this prestigious event, making it such a special stage to be part of.

We’re so proud of you for representing Mackay and bringing home a trophy in the Johnnie, along with an outstanding 5th place in the Village Maid. 🏆 An amazing effort, we are so proud of all the hard work and dedication that Olivia puts into her training!

Today our dancers danced in the 2026 Queensland Scottish National Dance Premiership and the Far North Queensland Highland Dancing Competition.

🌟Premiership🌟

💜Olivia placed 3rd in the Sailors Hornpipe and Blue Bonnets, 2nd in the Earl of Errol, 1st in the Scottish Lilt and place 2nd overall for the Queensland Scottish National Dance Premiership 14 and 15 years.

🌟Far North Queensland Highland Dancing Competition🌟

💜Anna, in Intermediate 11 years & under placed 3rd in the Fling and Sean Triubhas and 2nd in the Half Reel of Tulloch.

💜Chloe, in Intermediate 12 years & over placed 3rd in the Half Reel of Tulloch and Highland Laddie, 2nd in the Sean Triubhas and Sword Dance, 1st in the Highland Fling and 2nd in the Irish Jig (Trophy Dance).

💜Olivia, Premier 14 years & over, placed 3rd in the Highland Laddie and 2nd in the Scotch Measure.

Another big day for our dancers. It was lovely to see past students dancing as well. Thank you to everyone who helped throughout the weekend and thank you to Far North Queensland Regional Committee of Highland Dancing Inc for organising such a big event.

This morning our dancers danced in the 2026 Queensland Highland Dancing Championship and this afternoon danced in the Mackay Highland Dancing Association Annual Highland Dancing Titles & Competition.

Congratulations to all our dancers, they danced beautifully and their hardwork and effort paid off.

🌟Championship🌟

💜Olivia placed 6th in the Strathspey and Reel of Tulloch, 5th in the Sword dance, 4th in the Fling and Sean Triubhas and placed 4th overall for the Queensland Highland dancing Championship 14 and 15 years.

🌟Mackay Highland Dancing Association Competition🌟

💜Alexia placed 3rd in the Novice sword dance.

💜Anna placed 3rd in the Fling and Swords and placed 3rd overall in the Intermediate Title 11 years & Under. She placed 4th in the intermediate Scottish Lilt.

💜Chloe placed 4th in the Swords, 1st in the Fling and Sean Triubhas and placed 1st overall in the Intermediate Title 12 years & over. She placed 3rd in the Barracks Johnnie, 4th in the Scottish Lilt, 1st in the Flora and 2nd in the Irish Jig (Trophy Dance).

💜Adele placed 4th in the Village Maid and 3rd overall in the Premier Restricted section.

💜Olivia placed 2nd in the Village Maid, 1st in the Blue Bonnets and Flora and 1st overall in the Premier Title 13 to 15 years and placed 1st in Irish Jig (Trophy Dance).

💜Collins was awarded the Beginners Encouragement Award, which is to be awarded by the Adjudicators to the competitor most deserving of encouragement in each level. A great achievement for her first competition in beginners.

It’s very exciting for so many of our studio members to be able to travel to Brisbane to experience the Edinburgh Military Tattoo. What an amazing show! Of course the dancers are always the best act!
