15 YEARS OF CHPT
What a 15 years it has been.
I first entered the fitness industry in 2010, working at PYCSAM alongside the great Steve Sweeney. In 2011, I decided to take a chance on myself and create Cory Hearn Personal Training.
After leaving the commercial gym setting, I knew I wanted to go in a different direction. I started by training people at Brickfields Park. From there came the tiny, carpeted “dungeon” gym, followed by our facility on Wellington Street, where the floor was quite literally falling through beneath us.
We then expanded into the gym behind the hospital. I genuinely loved that facility, but we outgrew it far more quickly than I ever expected.
Now, we've gone to my ultimate facility that was able to be built from a rough floorplan I made right when I started this job!
When I first started, I always imagined I would be working alone. I never thought I would one day have a full team of personal trainers, MMA coaches, massage therapists and other professionals working alongside me under the same roof.
It definitely hasn’t been easy getting to this point, but it has been worth every difficult moment.
Thank you to every person who has helped me along the way, every trainer and coach who has worked beside me, and every person who has ever walked through our doors.
Whether you trained with us years ago, are training with us now or will join us in the future, you have all played or will play a part in this journey.
I still have people training with me from the Brickfields days, and even some from the gyms before then. You have no idea how appreciative I am of your support or how much it means that I can now provide you with the training facility you have always deserved.
I’m incredibly proud of what we have built together as a team, but I’ll never become complacent. We are always looking for ways to improve, always welcoming new people and always thinking about what comes next.
There is still plenty of room to grow, and I already have plenty of ideas about where we can go from here.
Fifteen years down, and somehow this still feels like only the beginning.
Here’s to the next 15 years.
