Thirty two cars. Eight regions. Three nights. One crown.

Nominations are locked in for the 2026 All Star Welding Chariots of Thunder at Wise Group Northline Speedway, the meeting the whole sprintcar season builds toward. Three nights on Darwin dirt, one name on the trophy, and a field deep enough that nobody is calling it early.

Reigning champion Luke Storer, current Australian champion Jock Goodyer, Matt Egel in his new outfit, Brock Hallett and Lachlan McHugh, just to name a few. Storer did it the hard way last year, never winning a single night and still taking the crown on consistency across the three. Goodyer is the man who keeps winning the nights that matter. Egel and Hallett have both parked it in Darwin's victory lane before. Don't count out Max Guilford either, the lone Kiwi coming across the Tasman for a crack at the crown.

Standing in their way are eleven of the Top End's finest, flying the Territory flag on home dirt they know better than anyone flying in.

The full field:

Northern Territory: Zack Grimshaw, Lachlan Cole, Jet Thompson, Christopher Harrison, Angus Campbell, Will Prest, Zeth King, Ray Walliss, Hayden Brown, Cori Jackson and Scott Kernahan.

Queensland: Lachlan McHugh, Kye Jensen, Dylan Menz, Brock Hallett, Karl Hoffmans and James Mathews.

Victoria: Steven Loader, Aston Rodriguez and Daniel Scott.

Western Australia: Jason Pryde, Jake Pobjoy and Jye Mckenzie.

South Australia: Matt Egel, Luke Storer and Ryan Jones.

Tasmania: Tony Clasener and Jock Goodyer.

New South Wales: Michael Saller and Brett Hobson.

New Zealand: Max Guilford.

Three nights, one crown, and only one name that leaves Darwin with it.

September 10 to 12, Wise Group Northline Speedway. 13 days to go. Kids under twelve free. Book your tickets at northlinespeedway.com.au

We've been spectators for years, looking forward to being part of Chariots this year!

Footage from last nights A Dash.

We almost had a perfect night at Northline Speedway. We got the heat win and won the A Dash. Qualified pole position for the final but unfortunately DNF.

The car felt great and looking forward to jumping back in the seat again in a couple of weeks.

Thanks to Peter McIver again for the opportunity and also Cody and Wayne ASD - Afco Shock Doctor , for helping to get the car sorted, she was on rails!

Victorian Speedcar ace Aston Rodrigous is showing the world that he is fast in any discipline of motorsports he get behind the wheel of.
He has spent the last couple of seasons dominating the compact Speedcar scene.

Last year he spent more time behind the wheel of his Baretta Fabrications/Chev speedcar showing the division he is not here to just make up numbers.
With a podium finish in the National title and his first feature win in a blue ribbon event at Avalon Raceway claiming victory over the current national champion Kaidon Brown, it is very clear how much talent this kid has.
What’s incredible is he’s achieving these kind of results with very minimal seat time in a speedcar with no more than a handful of drives to count.

Aston and the team headed to Darwin this past weekend for what would be his only Second drive in a sprintcar. Aston managed a podium result finishing third in the State title ahead of much more experienced teams, once again show casing his talent.

This year Aston and his family’s One Stop Constructions race team will aim to raise the bar even higher. With a new engine program and new cars combined with a fierce fitness program Aston Rodriguez Racing will be one to keep your eye on.

As a club it is alway great to have teams at this level part of the VSDA. This combined with our already strong field of next generation drivers tell me we are looking at a great season ahead.

First night out in a 410 Sprintcar and we got it on the podium!

We had a heat win and finished 3rd in the Darwin Title. It was definitely a battle to get it there. We struggled with set up, being new to the whole Sprintcar scene. It took a fair bit muscle to control it in the tricky track conditions. We're learning alot as we go.

Results:
Time trials: Qualified 3rd
Heat 1: 2nd - 1st
Heat 2: 5th - 4th
A Dash: 2nd - 2nd
Final: 3rd - 3rd

Thanks to Peter McGiver for the opportunity and the work he's done on the car and Cody for helping out.

We'll be back in Darwin in 2 weeks to race the NT Sprintcar Chapionship.
