Kings Royal - it’s more than just a sedan race!
It’s more than a race - it’s an event where like minded people come together from all over the county to celebrate speedway and grass roots sedan racing.
People you haven’t seen for 12 months come from everywhere to camp at the showgrounds for a week or sometimes more. Tents, Motorhomes, Caravans and Swags, the Royal is somewhere where everyone just finds a spots and set-up for a weekend of festivities.
It’s long days, its heat stroke, sunburn and dust, it’s rain, mud and soggy shoes, it’s head aches, lack of sleep, hangovers and dusty mornings, it’s the sound of someone on the Pit PA letting you know that breakfast is now ready.
It’s getting their days early to mark out your favourite spot. It’s putting your tarp up early because the place is always packed. It’s getting your favourite drivers t-shirt and grabbing some more hero cards and stickers.
It’s hanging out with your mates talking about stories from past events. It’s talking about how many royals you’ve been to and who’s going to win the $10,000 this year. It’s an atmosphere like you’ve never experienced before at a speedway!
It’s 3 nights of fierce sedan racing like you’ve never seen before. It’s elbows up and only the best will survive. There’s wrecks, there’s heartbreak and after 3 monster days, one driver will become $10,000 richer and become the Kings Royal champion.
If you’ve never been, you need to, because it’s simply the coolest event of the season.
This year will be its 10th annual running and man how we’ve missed it.
This years Kings Royal starts this Friday and we can’t wait!
