Ladies Country Teams
The Ladies Country Teams squad has been announced, with three KGC members selected: Darlene Baker (also a member at Romsey Golf Club), Sophie Banon and Jodie Perkins.
Congratulations to all three ladies, and particularly to Jodie on making her first representative team — and what we are sure will be the first of many!
On a beautiful early spring day yesterday, the squad played a practice match against the NE District Division 2 team at Benalla. The squad was up against it, taking on a strong team without our top six players, but every member stepped up and performed above expectations, with the final result coming down to the last match.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be, with the NE District team securing a 5–3 victory.
There were, however, some exceptional individual performances, with Darlene, playing at No. 3, and Jodie, at No. 5, both winning their matches. Way to go, ladies!
A big thank you also to Helen Dennett, who stepped up to represent our district in the practice match in the absence of squad members.
This year’s Country Teams will be held at Ballarat from 14–16 September, and the squad would love to see plenty of supporters there. Your support is always very much appreciated, so please come along, cheer on the team and help create a great atmosphere!

Go Country! 🏌️‍♀️👏
