A big shout out to our Hawks players and coaches taking part in this year’s Pacific Youth Rugby Festival in Southeast Queensland.

It’s a great opportunity for our young players to experience rugby alongside teams from across Australia, United Kingdom, South Africa and the Pacific. The festival focuses on culture, connection and sportsmanship values we’re proud to see our members represent at this pinnacle calendar event.

Springfield Hawkettes Rugby – A First Season to Remember

2025 was a historic year as the Hawks launched our first ever girls’ rugby program, with U12/13 and U14/15 teams stepping onto the field together for the very first time in our clubs 15 year history in both the XVs and 7s formats.

For many of our players it was their very first taste of contact sport and the way they embraced the challenge was inspiring. They turned up with commitment, eagerness to learn, and a genuine love for the game. Every training session and every match saw new skills, stronger confidence, and deeper friendships develop.

Our U12/13 Girls gave everything in every game, showing courage well beyond their experience. Their effort, determination and steady improvement across the season was clear for all to see. They created memories together that will last long after the final whistle and laid a strong foundation for next year.

Meanwhile, our U14/15 Girls battled their way into the 7s semi finals. They played with pride and perseverance, testing themselves against quality opposition and proving that hard work, teamwork and resilience can take you far.

What’s Next
With the BJRU season closed, the journey continues. Representative opportunities and new tournaments are on the horizon, with the Double Trouble 7s for U12s and U15s a major highlight to come. Expressions of Interest will be released soon – the next exciting step in this program.

To all our players thank you for your courage, your effort and your belief in one another. Be proud as we are of you.
To the Staff thank you so much for your dedication to the girls, their experience is largely thanks to your efforts. To our families and sponsors thank you for standing alongside them and making this first year possible. The foundation has been set, and the future of girls rugby at Springfield Lakes has only just begun.

🏉 Junior Hawks in Action 🏉

Our Under 6 to Under 9 players took part in the Pine Rivers annual competition and enjoyed a full day of rugby, friendship and maximum speed. The energy and smiles on the field showed what our Hawks community is all about, the sideline massages are their secret weapon 😂

We are grateful to all the families who came along and to the members who volunteered their time to staff the day. Your support means everything to our players and our club!

Hawks Weekly Wrap - The Nest Update

What a weekend for our mighty Hawks! Our Under 6 to Under 9 teams have wrapped up their regular season in style. Huge congratulations to all our junior players, families and coaches on an incredible year of growth and Hawks spirit.

While our youngest teams take a small break after Pine Rivers this week, many of our older teams are still playing and training hard for BJRU 7s,the upcoming Springfield 7s, PYF and Double Trouble Sevens. Regular junior team catch ups are also on the cards to keep the Hawks family connected.

Our senior men’s team finished their season with a massive shift against Souths, putting it all on the line right to the very end. Huge respect to the players and supporters who kept the Hawks spirit flying.

Team of the Week: Our Under 15 Girls battled hard in a double header against Wynnum and Sunnybank, showing plenty of power, speed and heart. Well done to the team and to the players of the match Phazel and Kahu.

Hawks Hero: A big shout out to Jarred Playford, an integral part of the club since returning in 2023 to the Hawks. From coaching an undefeated Under 9s team and supporting the kids week in and week out, Jarred’s passion keeps our club thriving. We appreciate you lad and cannot wait to see that speech.

Queensland Reds Visit: This Thursday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at Silver Jubilee Park. Come meet some rugby stars and wear your full training kit.
Pine Rivers Carnival: August 30. Good luck to all representing Hawks.
Springfield 7s: October 4 and 5. Our first ever 7s tournament featuring Under 10s to Under 15s.
Presentation Day: October 11. Celebrating the Hawks family.
