Innisfail Golf Club Innisfail Golf Club is situated just 1 hour south of Cairns & 2.5 hours north of Townsville in the h The Innisfail Golf Club was initially formed in 1925.

The Golf Course, being situated in the heart of Tropical North Queensland, lives up to the town's slogan of "green like you've never seen". The Clubhouse and carpark are situated on the Bruce Highway on the northern end of town beside the Showground/Racecourse complex. Relatively flat except for holes 1/10 and 9/18 which are gently sloping up to and away from the Clubhouse, the course is an easy w

alk for all ages. Being so well established, the course provides abundant shade in the open sections and rainforest trees or large stands of bamboo in the more challenging holes. It is a par 70 Men, 72 Ladies course with an Australian Course Rating of 69 Men, and Womens rating of 70. GolfLink course number is 40611. The spacious timber "Queenslander" style Clubhouse has a fully licensed bar and covered balcony with outdoor barbecue overlooking the 1/10 tee and 9/18 green. The Innisfail Golf Club is a member of the Far North Queensland Golf Association. Membership, with or without annual green fees are available to Men, Ladies and Juniors. Membership fees are extremely affordable.

It was a pleasure playing golf in the beautiful sunshine on Saturday. Only 3 players bettered their handicap on the first day we couldnโ€™t play with our golf ball.
9 of the Top 10 positions were filled by the morning players. Wilko wielded the wand well to shoot 37pts. Johnny C shot a new PB with 77 off the stick for 38pts.
Rosie had a stella round and had opportunities to shoot a new course record. Rosie finished with 67 off the stick after a rare bogey on the last. Awesome round mate.
The arvo groups tried their best, Marshy was the best in on 34pts with 2 washes, could have been something special.

The course was wet. Jake almost bogged the greens mower getting out the shed & had to choose the right lines for navigating around the course.
28 players braved the conditions & 4 players played better than their handicap on a tough scoring day.
6 players in the morning groups made it into the top 10. RT played well to come in at even for his round. Tatts & Wilko played really well to tie on -1, with Tatts on top of the leaderboard by countback.
Ole Kevvy was missing Millsy, but put together a solid +2 to secure 2nd in the Over 55โ€™s. Caineo had one bad hole, but put that behind him well, to finish on +1.
Jack had a rough front 9, but shot the lights out for a par back 9 and finish outright 2nd on -2.
Jake's driver behaved itself this week & he was lucky enough to make 6 upโ€™n downs on the back 9 to shoot 69 and finish off with -3 for the comp.
If there are any tips we could give our members coming into Club Champs or travelling away to play in Opens, itโ€™s, short game, short game, short game. And when you think you are getting pretty good at it, more short game!

Our course is here for everyone to enjoy, and we all play a part in keeping it in great condition.

The committee has recently received a number of complaints regarding practice divots being left unrepaired 80โ€“100 metres from our greens. We are not talking about one or two divots, but lines of 10โ€“15 practice shots being hit and left without repair. In addition, pitch marks on the greens are also being left unfixed.

This is unacceptable. Not only does it impact the playing experience for members and visitors, but it also creates unnecessary work and is disheartening for the volunteers who dedicate countless hours to maintaining and improving our course.

๐ŸŒ๏ธโ€โ™‚๏ธ Please use the practice facilities provided:
โ€ข Practice fairway (next to the 5th fairway)
โ€ข Practice nets at the clubhouse
โ€ข Simulator inside the clubhouse

When practising on the course, please remember:
โœ… A maximum of 3 balls off the tee during a practice round is acceptable
โœ… Fill all divots and carry as many sand buckets as required
โœ… Repair all pitch marks on the greens
โœ… Be mindful of players behind you and maintain pace of play

This is an example of the damage being left on our course. A few extra seconds to repair your divots and pitch marks makes a huge difference.

The course was looking great and the showers stayed away for the day. Only one player bettered their hโ€™cap for the round, which turned out to be the winner on the day.
The morning groups were separated by 3 points in the top 10. Playing conditions were tough, which showed in the scoring.
Grievesy put in another solid round to lead the pack of players on 35pts.
Swainey almost broke into he top 10 on 33pts and Barry tied the pack on 35pts.
Caineo was on a heater on the front 9, a solid 2 under, but the road got a bit rocky on the back. 3 bogeys and a wash on 15 was almost the end.
A courageous comeback to finish par, birdie, birdie and 37pts, certainly lifted his spirits!
