Sapiens rescue

I rescued this little sapiens hive last week monday from inside a self watering pot plant.

It has made some good progress, and appears to be running quite well even though it was quite wet when retrieving it.

Apologies for the poor video quality. Is always dark where it's positioned.

Hello there

Just an update on the attacking swarm i captured last month.

I hadn't check on it for over a week, until today.
It's been approximately a month since it all began.
Lots of positive signs, and even more bees now coming and going from the daughter hive.
Added in a snippet of the hive that was initially attacked, it's huge! With lots of bees on display. Good to see they have both been getting along.
Apparently there was some fighting last week, whether there was another attacking swarm i don't know, but i missed it either way.

This is a video of a eduction i had set up from around february this year, there are a few progressional videos already up. At Tim heards workshop in July he partially split the mother hive and placed a portion of brood in the daughter(eduction) hive. It has been about 2 months.
I opened it up to check today and there appears to be a tiny bit of mould growing pictured in video. Not something you want to see, but there was alot of open space and the weather has been dreadful. Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse and spread.

Just an update on the capture swarm that began last month.

I can officially report success, the hive has bees coming and going every day, and has a gentle hum coming from the entrance and exit hole.
You may notice the brown balls on the back of the bees legs(Scopa). I believe this to be propolis being brought by the bees from the old hive to the new hive.

The following videos display an attacking swarm at one of my past eduction sites. It has been three days now since the swarm began, i was lucky enough to receive a notification from the home owner alerting me of the swarm.🙏
First video was yesterday and i had only placed one hive out, the second, which is today shows multiple hive that hopefully will also be inhabited.

An update of one of my eductions. My last video basically showed a failed attempt where 80 percent of the bees had evacuated the eduction hive. So i had to reassess my initial set-up. So I went and used a fair bit of tape and blocked of any entry and exit routes from the mother hive, and have successfully diverted them through to the eduction box once again. Things have picked up, and the activity level inside the hive is going gangbusters.
Have also added a larger portion of brood to the hive in hopes to help "jump start" it, which in a nut shell basically means, changing the mindset of the bees collectively away from just using the box as an extra storage supply, and instead redirecting them to hopefully building it into a full functioning self sufficient hive with brood and queen. It may or may not work, but here's to hoping.
I believe it's now been close to 6-7 months since I began this whole process with this particular eduction(as I have many others).
The first video is from roughly 3 and a half weeks ago. And the second 5 days ago.
I hope this video helps with anyone out there learning what and what nots to do(with all my mistakes😆) when educting a hive.
Enjoy, and thanks for watching.

An eduction I have set up and attatched to a sapien hive in the wall.
Can you spot the odd bee out???

This is a recent eduction I began just 3 and a half weeks ago.
The mother hive is a very strong colony. This is my first attempt at educting from a man made native bee hive.
Not sure how far along it should be, will be doing regular updates.
