Big day of racing at Mission Beach

The boys took on the 24km Vaka Tua Motu race and put in a massive effort from start to finish.

It was close racing the whole way, with the lead changing a few times throughout the race. Matt and Mana and the other Boys in the OC2 were right up there going side by side with the boys in the OC6, making for some awesome battles towards the end

A massive congratulations to all our paddlers:

Matt and Mana (OC2) – They took out 1st place overall with a time of 2:01:02, claiming line honours. For the first time ever, they were also the first to start the line!

OC6 Team (Harry, Frank, Areni, Haiveta, P**i and Peter) Who Followed closely behind, they crossed the line in 2nd overall and took out 1st in their division with a time just 25 seconds behind the winners.

Raka and Kila (OC2) – They secured 3rd overall in the OC2 with a time of 2:08:20, finishing in 2nd place in their division.

Minsion and Jerry (OC2) – Rounding out an incredible day, they crossed 4th overall with a time of 2:13:19, claiming 3rd place in the OC2 division.

🌏 SINGAPORE BOUND! 🇸🇬

A massive good luck to Amie and Raka as they head off to Singapore to compete at the IVF Va’a World Sprint Championships!

Amie will proudly represent Australia in the Under 19 OC6 division, while Raka will represent Papua New Guinea in the V1 division. Both have worked incredibly hard to earn this opportunity and compete against some of the best paddlers in the world.

Race hard, enjoy every moment and make unforgettable memories. Your Coconuts family will be cheering you both on from home! 🏠 🌴
