New Zone Tennis was founded in 2013 in Henley Beach/Adelaide. Director and Owner Heiner Wirtz-Fielding is involved with Tennis and Coaching in particular for more than twenty years. After working as club coach in Germany, Heiner migrated to the UK where he worked as Head Of Performance for Esporta Racquets academy and attended the LTA High Performance Coaching course (PCA). In the UK he also worke
d as Talent and Performance Coordinator for the LTA before moving to New Zealand where he headed the Coaching Program of the Marlborough Tennis Association. Since moving to Australia Heiner was involved in some of the finest programs in Queensland where he also helped young coaches to get started as Coach Education Facilitator for Tennis Queensland. New Zone Tennis does not have the traditional coaching approach, but wants to educate players becoming independent problem solvers that take great pride in their performances. The person is the centre point of the program, not the coach or the program itself. At New Zone Tennis we want to learn about and from the athlete we are working with, in order to be able to explore their full potential. The outcome of matches doesn't weigh much, as the quality of the process will lead to the desired outcome. We want to make Tennis accessible to the entire community of the Rockingham region and beyond; that's why we will work closely with local schools and promote the best game in the world through a program that makes it possible for everyone to learn
and enjoy tennis.
