🏆 After claiming both the 2026 Ladbrokes Devonport Cup and Ladbrokes Launceston Cup, Asva has officially begun his journey towards the Ladbrokes Geelong Cup in October.

Following a well-earned break after his stellar Tasmanian campaign, the talented gelding has settled into life in Victoria, where he will race this season.

Brent Crawford recently called in to see the cup-winning star, who is currently enjoying a pre-training stint with Mariah Kaminaki and Jake Noonan at their agistment and pre-training property.

After conquering two of Tasmania’s premier staying features, the road to Geelong is now underway, and we can’t wait to follow Asva’s next chapter. 🐎💪

Vale Graeme Peck

Tasracing extends its condolences to the family and friends of Graeme Peck following his recent passing at age 94.

A Hall of Fame reinsman and one of Tasmania’s most accomplished harness racing drivers, Graeme recorded 483 winners between 1951 and 1978 during a career that spanned nearly three decades.

His record places him among the leading drivers of his generation. Graeme claimed five Tasmanian Drivers’ Premierships, winning the title in 1955/56, 1966/67, 1968/69 and 1969/70, before sharing the 1970/71 premiership after a dead heat.

Graeme enjoyed success in many of Tasmania’s feature harness racing events, including the Tasmanian Pacing Championship, which he won with Barita in 1970 and Speedy Ben in 1973.

One of his most memorable moments came on the national stage in 1974, when he drove Speedy Ben to victory in the Inter Dominion Consolation in Perth.

Graeme’s achievements were formally recognised in 2014, when he was inducted into the Tasmanian Harness Racing Hall of Fame.

As a mark of respect, the Launceston Pacing Club have named the opening race on Sunday night the Vale Graeme Peck Pace, with drivers engaged in the race to wear black armbands in his honour.

A funeral service to celebrate Graeme’s life will be held at the Bridgenorth Football Club on Friday, 12 June, commencing at 14:00.
