We're excited to announce that one of our favourite sons, Billy Jury, will be turning out for the Lions again this summer!

Spending his childhood living a stone's throw from the ground, Billy is the very definition of a Harcourt lad. Acting as a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, Billy's all-round game has seen him go from strength to strength over the past few years, highlighted by a 63 with the bat in our final A Grade game last summer against Muckleford.

That same match saw Billy open the bowling during our fielding innings, where he was able to pick up a classy 2/44 to lead our wickets tally as well, and truly demonstrate the all-round threat that Billy possesses.

We're keen to see you take the next step in your game this summer, Billy, and can't wait to see you achieve even more massive milestones with both bat and ball!

RECOMMITTED:

After a short break from our first round of recommitments from the season just gone, we're thrilled to be back with an almighty bang as we announce the return of our star English allrounder for the upcoming season, Declan Wastie!

Declan was only able to show us glimpses of what he is capable of last summer after a late start to the season; however showed us just how vital he is going to be to our side this summer with both bat and ball in hand. Highlighted by a composed and powerful 51 against North on a particularly tricky deck, Declan demonstrated that he is able to perfectly blend a solid technique, classy strokeplay and dominating power hitting to build an innings of substance.

Declan has been spending the winter immersing himself in the Harcourt lifestyle, playing football for our town as well with a few of the lads.

We're beyond thrilled to be having you back this summer Declan, and can't wait to see what you're able to produce with a full Australian summer to work with!

RECOMMITTED:

We're thrilled to announce the recommitment of one of our main strike weapons with the ball in hand for this season, in Ben Gibbs.

Ever reliable, Ben often took the last ball last season, and was regularly able to tie opposition batters up with balls that would nip around off the seam. Ben finished the season equal 3rd for wickets taken for our A Grade side, with a great economy rate to go with it.

We're looking forward to seeing Ben continue to evolve his game this upcoming summer, with plenty more wickets in store for our left-arm seamer!

As we head into the weekend, we're thrilled to announce the recommitment of one of our greatest young superstars, in Jack Archer!

Jack was the very definition of the Jack-of-all-trades for our A Grade side last season; slotting in as an opening batsman, taking charge with the ball in hand and bowling difficult overs when the team needed him, and taking the gloves at times, keeping up to the stumps to many of our medium pace bowlers and keeping opposition batsmen on their toes!

At just 15 years of age, we know we're only seeing the tip of the iceberg in terms of the talent that Jack possesses, and we can't wait to see him take further leaps and bounds in his cricket this summer!

We're thrilled to announce that one of our main glovemen Brent Chislett will be returning to the Den this upcoming season.

Brent has demonstrated a more than handy ability with the gloves in hand, keeping wicket for the vast majority of our A Grade matches last season. Alongside this, Brent brings a rock-solid defence and, when not wearing the gloves, some handy medium pace that troubles opposition bats with the swing and seam he often produces.

The very definition of versatility, Brent will offer our club something with whichever discipline he is asked to perform, and will help us work towards a successful season this summer.

We're thrilled to announce our Kiwi allrounder Jae will be returning to the Den this upcoming season.

After a fantastic beginning to his season last summer, Jae unfortunately missed a large chunk of the season with a torn lat, which also limited his impact upon return to the field. But with some time off, he has fully recovered and is ready to launch into the season, continuing on where he left off.

With some handy medium pace that nips and swings around, and a rock-solid defence with bat in hand, Jae will look to contribute plenty of wickets and runs this upcoming summer

Last season's Vice-Captain, Harley Brereton, has recommitted to the club again for the upcoming season.

There was little doubt we would have our pocket-rocket opener returning to the Den this summer, with the club stalwart keen to run it back and keep putting in the work to help see our side have some success this season.

As a solid left-handed opening batsman who is capable of more than handy left-arm medium pace, we'll be looking to lean on Harley to help steer us the right way this summer!

RECOMMITTED:

Although the pitch has been covered and the ground far too damp for play at this time of the year, we have been hard at work behind the scenes, gearing up for another massive summer of cricket at the Den for the 2026/27 season, and we'd like to kick things off by announcing that one of our most important cogs on the field has recommitted for this upcoming summer.

After a clean sweep of awards night for our A Grade side last season, and fresh off under 18's premiership success at Kangaroo Flat, it will surprise no one to say that Koby plays an integral part of our A Grade side. As a fiery opening bowler and counterattacking top order player, Koby carried the side with bat, ball, and sometimes both during last season, and at only 18, we're looking forward to seeing him take his game to even greater heights this summer.

Koby also represented both the CDCA in the Central Highlands Kirton Shield, as well as representing the whole of the Central Highlands Under 18's at the Victorian Country Cricket League.

We're absolutely thrilled to have you back on board for this summer, Koby, and can't wait to announce more returning and new faces to take the field alongside you over the coming weeks!

PRESENTATION NIGHT:
Late last month, we hosted our annual presentation night. Across an enjoyable evening, we handed out awards for each of our Under 13's, Under 16's, A Reserve and A Grade sides, as well as some club awards encompassing on and off field achievements across our club.

Congratulations to the award winners of our A Grade awards, pictured within this post. A special shout-out to our young superstar Koby Simmons, taking out all the on-field awards in our top side this season!
