The Googong Hogs Community Sports Club is excited to launch its very first Women's Basketball Team! 🎉

Whether you're a seasoned player, returning to the game, or keen to give basketball a go for the first time, we'd love to hear from you.

What a night for the Googong Hogs at the AFL Canberra's awards for 2026! 🏅🏅

We have not one but two league best and fairest winners in Nathan Edwards and Jessie Reynolds! Eddie taking out the Mens division one J.P O'Dea medal and Jessie taking out the Women's division one best and fairest. Both proving why they were selected as our captains, leading from the front all year.

We couldn't be prouder of both of them both! Congratulations again 💙💛

The 2026 Googong Hogs Presentation Night will celebrate the huge year we have had across all the sports we offer including footy, netball, basketball and cricket. The night gets bigger and better each year and you don't want to miss it!

No Ultimate experience needed. It's fast, social and has heaps of crossover with AFL and Netball.

2 days until our junior come and try day! 💙💛

📣 Calling all Junior Cricket players! 📣

The 2026/2027 Cricket season is almost upon us, do you have a child that is interested in playing? Whether they have never played before or are already a little pro, the Hogs is the place for you!

On Sunday the 23rd of August we are throwing a come and try day for all junior players. It will be a great day with plenty of fun and games to get a feel for cricket. We are looking for both boys and girls players so everyone is welcome to attend. There will also be a BBQ to help keep everyone warm during that winter weather!

If you are interested feel free to fill out the expression of interest form by scanning the QR code or following the link below. You can also just turn up at Gulaj Oval on the 23rd and meet team. We are also always looking for volunteers, coordinators or further senior players. If you are interested you can also fill out the expression of interest form!

The girls bow out in a thriller!

Yesterday the girls played one of their best games for the entire season against ANU. They controlled the first half by kicking the first goal and keeping ANU scoreless. Their pressure was immense, particularly in the forward line. Forcing the ANU backs into mistakes. Unfortunately they couldn't take full advantage with a few goals chances just missing. This leaving them with 1 goal and 3 behinds at half time.

After half time the game became super tight with neither team able to take full advantage. Late in the third ANU did manage to finally get a goal of their own leaving the Hogs with a razor thin lead at the final break.

The last quarter was also an arm wrestle with the Hogs doing everything they could to hold on to the lead. Unfortunately however ANU were able to convert one of their opportunities to take the lead with less than 10 minutes left. This ended up being the winner with the Hogs falling heartbreakingly just short.

Taking a step back from the result however the girls can and should be super proud of their efforts. After their previous game against ANU where they went down by 58 points their improvement is evident. With all the unavailabilities and injuries this team has had this year this performance has been nothing short of extraordinary! It goes without saying that they have done the Hogs very proud!

Cant wait to see what they can do next year 💛💙

Your Hogs Women's prelim team is locked in 🔒

The girls are ready to go in a do or die prelim final tomorrow. The team is looking pretty settled other than an unfortunate two players out with injury. Luckily they are replaced by two big ins with Alicia and Lara returning. They will be looking to continue on their improved form from last week and take it right up to ANU!

Finals week 2 is here and its do or die for our Women's squad!

The girls are heading north to take on the in a huge game. After a tough year the girls showed some great improvement last week and will look to go even better this week. With a spot in the Grand Final up for grabs its all to play for. Make sure you are there by 9:50 to cheer the girls on and get right behind them!

Your Watson Blinds & Awnings Player of the Week for the first week of finals is Caleb Cawse! 👏

Cawsie was the spark on the weekend, getting the Hogs back into the game! His 3rd quarter in particular was incredible, including a huge goal on the run to give the boys momentum. He used his run and dash all day popping up all over the field with a great four quarter effort.

Congrats again Cawsie. Go Hogs!! 💛💙
