Googong Hogs Renowned for their tenacity, no matter the activity, the Googong ‘Hogs’ enjoy a reputation for strong administration and a ‘never say die’ attitude.

Formed in 1976, originally under the auspices of the Combined Services Club, the Harman Australian Football Club boasted a proud Navy and defence tradition of being the only defence based club in the ACT offering opportunities to defence personnel, regardless of rank, and civilians to play football in an egalitarian environment. In recent times, the Club formed a strategic relationship with the Qu

eanbeyan AFC and offered opportunities for members of the Queanbeyan, defence and wider communities to play Australian Rules football in friendly, fun and family orientated environment. At the Annual General Meeting conducted after the conclusion of the 2015 season, a nearly unanimous vote passed to change the name of the Harman Australian Football Club to the Googong Australian Football Club, and to move our base of operations and home ground to the newly constructed Rockley Oval in Googong.

Your Hogs Round 9 teams are here! 😍

Our Women's teams kicks us off with some very exciting returns. After a few months out with injury H is back, bringing a heap of experience and leadership. Alongside her is a another big return with Britt back in the team for the first time since the Grand Final last year! The girls are looking to get back on the winners list tomorrow in a big game.

The Reserves are looking to continue their form but are coming up against a strong side in the Cats. The boys will have a new Hogs debutant also with Sam Hosking pulling on the blue and gold for the first time. Along with this we have two returning faces with Will and Dom. Good luck boys!

The Seniors come up against Eastlake in an important game. Once again the boys welcome back some returning players. Both returning from injury, Caleb and Hammer will be very useful additions to our forward line. After a few weeks overseas Bowdo is also back to add his class to the midfield. The Seniors will be looking to get back on the winners list after a few losses, go get them lads!

All Hogs teams are back in action for Round 9 🐗

This week the Hogs head south to take on and down at Snowy Oval in Cooma! The Women's and Seniors are looking to get back on the winners list with the Reserves looking to continue their good form. If you can make sure to get down and support all the teams starting from 10am.

Your Watson Blinds & Awnings Player of the Week is Michael Theo 👏

Mikey has been improving out of sight each and every week and Saturday was no exception. He was asked to go in the midfield and dominated. He also hit the scoreboard with coach Josh saying he kicked goal of the year. We are happy he is on the Hogs side as we wouldn't want to be on the end of one of his strong fend offs!

The boys get the win for Rhys in his 150th game 🎉

The boys were able to break the run of milestone game losses yesterday against Ainslie! The game was contested and tight in the first with Ainslie leading by a point at the first break. After this however the Hogs started to grind away to get a lead. At the final break the game wasnt done however with the Hogs only being up by 15. In the last term the Hogs took control kicking 5 goals to 2 to run out with a solid win to celebrate Rhys' 150th in style!

The Seniors started strong kicking the first 2 goals. Ainslie hit back but by half time were still down by 7 points. Unfortunately in the third Ainslie jumped the Hogs kicking 4 goals to none. The Hogs couldn't reel back in this lead with Ainslie running away with the win. A disappointing result but still plenty to learn from and improve on for next week.

Your Round 8 Hogs teams are in! 💪

Also quick shout out to Ainslie Football Club for our new logo. Who would have thought having one of your players draw it from memory would be even better than our original!?

With our Women's team having the bye our two Men's teams will be flying the flag for us. The headliner of Men's team this week is Rhys Ebert who will run out for his 150th game! The boys will be looking to get around him and celebrate with a win. You may also see a familiar face in the team with former Reserve grade champ Spaldo playing his first game for a few years!

Our Senior side also has some welcome returns with vice captain Jack returning. Alongside in the forward line we also have Matty and Dre returning to give the side a boost. Also joining the squad this week are some Queanbeyan boys in Kai, Clancy and Kye. Helping us with unavailability's thanks to injury we cant wait to see what these lads can do for the Hogs!

This week Rhys Ebert runs out for his 150th game for the Hogs! 👏

Rhys is a stalwart of the Hogs, playing his first game 14 years ago in 2012 (back when we were the Harman Hogs). Those 14 years also include being a 2015 Hogs premiership player. Reliable both on and off the field the Hogs wouldn't be the same without all he as done for the club. You can now find him down back rallying the defence each week.

This Saturday we head north to take on the Ainslie Football Club in two big games. Unfortunately our Women's team has another bye so we will have to wait another week to see them back at it. Make sure you get there by 12 to cheer our Hogs on!

Your Watson Blinds & Awnings Player of the Week for Round 7 is Scott Townley 👏

Could it have ever been anyone else? Not only did Scott play his 200th game for the Ressies on Saturday but he also backed it up by playing for the Seniors straight after. Just another example of Scotty's dedication and love for the Hogs. The Hogs are lucky to have him 💙💛
