The schedule is being run upside down this week, so first on track is the elite men. Jackson isn’t stoked on an early wake up but after a few Redbulls, he’ll be peakin’.

Two truths and a lie ~ Santa Cruz Bicycles Factory Edition

1. Every frame goes through a meticulous testing process to make sure it meets SCB standards.

2. Steve Peat personally hand-strength tests every frame. He’s released from his box each morning for a leg stretch, a sip of water, and a quick go with the hammer.

3. Every test machine (bar a few ultra-specialised ones) is built in-house, so they know they do exactly what it says on the SCB tin.

It’s always cool to see the inner workings of the factory, but it never fails to boggle the mind just how many people are involved in the making of a single bike.

There are no mates at a HQ visit when a supermarket sweep is involved. One minute. Five items. Many elbows to the ribs. No risk assessment. Solid Friday afternoon entertainment for the kids.

Massive thanks to Fox for having us — we got the heart rates up and a proper BTS look at how everything works from start to finish. The scale is wild. One kit doesn’t just happen… it’s literally years in the making and involves many people.

Oh, on that note, we’re going to look pretty dang good in 2026. Maybe a few nods to a Syndicate from past times…
