Facing my own health challenges and

body injuries led me to discover the transformative power of Ayurveda. ✨ Saucha β€” The Yogic Practice of Purity

Saucha is one of the Niyamas β€” the personal observances from Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga. It means purity, and it begins from the inside out β€” body, mind, and the spaces we live and work in.

This week I’ve been lovingly transforming my home workspace 🏠✨ β€” clearing, cleaning, consciously choosing what stays and what goes.

And honestly? It felt like a practice in itself.

Because when our outer environment is cluttered and heavy, our inner world reflects it. When we clear and cleanse our space with intention, we create room β€” for focus, for stillness, for whatever wants to come through next.

A few simple saucha practices for your workspace:

🌧 Outside was damp and heavy all I wanted to to was sleep in and stay warm and cozy, classic Kapha energy with a hint of Vata with the wind!

So this morning I chose fire over stillness β€” an energising, heating yoga flow to build Agni from the inside out and lift that heaviness right up. πŸ”₯

When the weather is Kapha, we become Kapha β€” sluggish, cool, slow to ignite. The Ayurvedic antidote? Move. Generate heat. Wake the body up before the mind talks you out of it.

πŸ‚ This was me this morning…

I woke up scattered, tired from a broken night’s sleep, and there was that familiar autumn chill and breeze in the air.

Classic Vata season. Classic Vata morning.

In Ayurveda, autumn is Vata’s time β€” cool, dry, windy and unpredictable. And when the season mirrors what’s happening inside us, we can feel it deeply. Restless sleep, a busy mind, that ungrounded, β€œall over the place” feeling.

So this morning instead of pushing through, I slowed right down. 🌿

Some slow, grounding yin-style movement β€” nothing forceful, nothing fast. Just gentle, intentional stillness to anchor me back into my body.

And it worked. πŸ™

This is the wisdom of Ayurveda β€” like increases like, and opposites heal. Vata is fast, light and airy, so we counter it with slow, warm and grounded.
