Our Cobar Swimming Club 2025/2026 Presentation & AGM is happening this Thursday, 20 August from 6pm! 💙💛🩵
Our very small committee has finally found a date, sorted the trophies and awards, and we can’t wait to celebrate everyone’s achievements from another fantastic season.
There is plenty to celebrate! 🎉
From our youngest swimmers making their debut in the pool with our newest group, the Squids, through to our older swimmers competing at interclub carnivals, school competitions and even State Age swimming – every swimmer has something to be proud of. 🏊‍♀️👏
We’ll be recognising our: 🏅 Squids
🏅 17m swimmers
🏅 Blue & Gold JX swimmers
🏅 Championship winners & runners-up
🏅 Pointscore winners
🏅 Perpetual award winners
…and celebrating the many achievements our swimmers have had throughout the season.
Following presentations, we will hold our AGM, with all committee positions declared vacant.

Whether you grabbed something yummy, stopped for a chat or simply came by to say hello, every bit of support means so much to our club.
All funds raised go straight back into supporting our swimmers and helping us continue to provide opportunities for our kids. 🩵

🏊‍♀️🏆 FINALLY… WE HAVE A DATE! 🏆🏊‍♂️
After juggling work, family life and other committee commitments, we have finally managed to lock in a date for our Cobar Swimming Club 2025/2026 Awards Presentation! 🎉

📍 Room 1 – Cobar Bowling & Golf Club
We know our presentations have been a little later than usual this year, so thank you to everyone for your patience while we found a date that worked.
This year, we will also be combining our presentation evening with our Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Following the awards presentation, we will hold a brief AGM, with ALL committee positions declared vacant.
We encourage our swimming families to come along, celebrate the achievements of our swimmers and consider putting their hand up to get involved with the club for the upcoming season. 💙💛🩵
We’re looking forward to FINALLY getting together and celebrating another fantastic season! 🏊‍♀️🏆

End of Season BBQ & Novelty Races/Relays – EOI 💙🏊‍♀️🌭
We’re getting ready to celebrate the end of another wonderful season with our End of Season BBQ and Novelty Relays.
To help with catering, we are asking families to please send through an expression of interest if they would like to attend.
Swimmers, parents, committee members and families are all invited to come along and join in the fun, with everyone welcome to take part in the novelty races and relays.

We would also love to invite our Squids families to attend, join in, and share any feedback from the season. It’s been a fantastic first season for Squids, and we’d really value hearing from you.

Please let us know numbers for catering purposes so we can plan for a great afternoon/evening with our club community.
Please coment in the comments your SURNAME and options of either STEAK or SAUSAGE and how many!

⏱️🏊‍♀️ Timekeepers Needed – Final Club Championships Tonight 🏊‍♂️⏱️
We’re looking for a few parents to help out with timekeeping tonight. If you haven’t had a turn yet, we’d really appreciate you stepping in 🙌
This gives our regular volunteers the chance to relax and watch their children swim 💙
What does timekeeping involve?
✔ The starter will automatically start the race/stopwatch
✔ All you need to do is press either button on the stopwatch to stop it once ypur swimmer has finished their race. Let it run if you dont have a swimmer.
✔ Each lane will have its own race sheet
✔ Simply check with the Chief Timekeeper for your swimmer, then record their time at the end of the race
It’s easy to learn and a great way to support the club 😊

⏰ 4PM TODAY – Before Club Starts
This is a great opportunity to get used to the new set-up and learn how to set yourself up properly.
We’d love to see as many swimmers and their parents there as possible — the more familiar you are, the more confident you’ll be tonight!

🏊‍♂️ Starting Block Workshop – Wednesday 🏊‍♀️
Tom and Henry will be running a Starting Block Workshop before club this Wednesday, kicking off from 4:00pm.

This session will go through with our 33m and 50m swimmers (and their parents) how to correctly set up the starting blocks for their race and understand which number setting works best for them.

The new starting blocks are an awesome addition to the pool, and for those swimmers heading to Western Area and State competitions, this will be great practice and a chance to get comfortable using them.

👨‍👩‍👧 Parents: We’ll need your help to make sure your swimmer understands how to set up their block and to assist with packing them away at the end of the night.
We’re looking forward to seeing everyone there and making the most of this great new equipment! 💪🏊‍♂️💙
