46 kids on the mats today 🙌 What an incredible turnout!

Congratulations to everyone who earned stripes today ❤️

Watching the progress over the last few months has been amazing. As a coach, I couldn’t be more proud of the effort and dedication these incredible kids are putting in. Some of them are training anywhere from 5 to 8 classes a week 🔥🔥 and it really shows.

Jiu Jitsu is a long journey — one that teaches discipline, resilience, confidence and so much more both on and off the mats.

Let’s keep working.

Hey Team Escape Jiu Jitsu and the wider Whitsundays community,

The amazing team at Jungle Zoo Early Learning in Mandalay has reached out to us for support as young Lucy and her family face the fight of their lives as she battles cancer.

As part of our support, Escape Jiu Jitsu will be running a fundraising raffle at the gym, with all proceeds going towards helping Lucy and her family during this incredibly difficult time.

A dream come true at Escape Jiu Jitsu ❤️

36 kids on the mats yesterday for No Gi class 🙌

At our last gym, Coach Bec and I regularly had 25–30 kids in our classes, but with only the two of us coaching, less than half the mat space and only 2 classes per week 😅 Honestly, I still don’t know how we managed 🤷‍♂️

Now we have all the mat space you could ask for, 12 kids classes per week across 2 age groups, and an incredible coaching team of 4 coaches — including 2 black belts, a purple belt and a green belt 🔥

Between us we have a combined 48 years of experience, a No Gi World Champion, a No Gi World medalist and two Australian National Champions 🙌

But more importantly than any title, we all share an unmatched passion for teaching, training and learning Jiu Jitsu ❤️

Some gyms let their white and blue belts run the kids classes, but at Escape Jiu Jitsu we know our kids are the future of our sport, so they only get the best from us 🙌

My promise… this is only the beginning.

3 black belts leading the charge, a solid crew of coloured belts sharpening their skills, and some hungry white belts grinding their way up the ranks 🤙
