Through Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, MMA and Boxing martial arts we develop mentally and physically resilient children and adults and stimulate the pursuit of one’s best self both on and off the mats. Cairns’ largest and longest running Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy, with TEN Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belts. We are the ONLY martial arts academy in North Queensland to be able to make this claim. W

e are also home to three junior Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world champions. We are proud to have our roots are as a DeBeen 100% Jiu Jitsu Academy Affiliate. Fusion Cairns ' Muay Thai is headed up by a very accomplished Muay Thai competitor and coach, Ethan Cannon. Ethan is the former Pro QLD WMC Muay Thai Champion, Former 2x WKBF Australian Champion and Former 2x WKBF Queensland Champion. In addition to these achievements Ethan is also an accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown belt being multiple Pan Pacific, National, and State Championship medallist. Classes cater to all levels of adults from beginner to advanced with specific programs for each level. Juniors start at 3 and 4 years old for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and 6 - 8 years old for Muay Thai and MMA.

🏅 GRADING DAY — JUNE 2026 🏅

On Saturday 6th June, we held one of the most memorable grading days in our academy’s history.

Families, teammates and coaches packed the mats to watch 10 dedicated members step up and earn promotion to a new belt. That’s months (and years) of showing up, doing the work, and growing on and off the mats.

A huge moment for the whole gym: massive congratulations to two of our longest-serving and most respected members, Martin Bogner and Zacherad Patten, who were awarded their BLACK BELTS. The pinnacle of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a milestone that reflects over a decade of dedication to the gentle art.

To everyone who graded: we’re proud of you. You make this community what it is. 🤝
