The technique isn’t about strength, it’s about understanding a few simple ideas;

🔵 Redirect the attack - don’t block, guide it.

🟧 Control the centre - once you have their balance, everything is easier.

Morihei Ueshiba stated that misogi, “purification of body and mind,” was the heart of Aikido; in order to practice the way of harmony properly one must:

Calm the spirit and return to the divine - chinkin kishin

Cleanse the body and spirit by removing all malice, selfishness and desire - misogi
