Greens update 🌱⛳
We’ve just completed an important round of greens improvement works, including double scarification, overseeding with bentgrass, and a topdress and rub‑in across the greens currently in play.
🔧 What that means for your putter:
⛳ Double scarification removes excess thatch and organic matter, opening the surface to improve air and water movement and creating ideal channels for new seed to establish.
🌱 Overseeding with bentgrass introduces a cool‑season turf that performs strongly through winter, helping deliver a smoother, more consistent putting surface in the cooler months.
☀️ Topdressing and rub‑in involves applying and working sand into the greens to protect the seed, smooth the surface, and improve firmness and drainage.
Looking ahead to September/October, we’ll transition back to seashore paspalum for summer — selected for its heat and drought tolerance, durability under traffic, and ability to handle our conditions as the course continues to strengthen and mature .
🚫 One very important reminder: please keep all carts and buggies well clear of the greens at all times.
Park in the rough and walk in. It’s a small change that makes a massive difference.
The team is putting in the work to bring Bero’s greens back to where they should be, and these improvements only succeed if we protect them. Thanks for backing the process 👊🌿
