After a big few weeks of rain, the course is drying out nicely and looking noticeably greener.

We’re happy to share that carts are back in action, with conditions continuing to improve day by day.

Thanks for your patience while we worked through the wet weather — we appreciate everyone sticking with us ⛳️💚

🌧️ Course update (aka: Bero’s gone a little… aquatic) 🌧️

With all this rain, the course is very wet and we’ve had to close the 8th & 9th holes for now.

✅ Good news: the rest of the course is still open — and to keep your round whole, you can play the 1st and 2nd holes twice (because everyone loves a bonus replay, right?).

And yes… these photos are of the golf course, not a newly opened lake resort 😉⛳💦

🌧️ Wet weather update 🌧️

After significant rainfall over the past 7 days — and with more on the way — carts will be out of action until further notice to help protect our course.

We’ll continue to monitor conditions and keep you updated as things change. Thanks for your understanding ⛳️💚

P.S. Just confirming… this is a photo of the course pond, not the greens 😉

🌧️ Wet weather update 🌧️

Due to ongoing wet conditions, carts will remain out of action tomorrow while we continue to look after the course.

We’ll reassess conditions for Friday and keep you posted.
Thanks for your patience and understanding ⛳️💚

🌧️ Wet weather update 🌧️
With all the rain around, carts won’t be available for hire today or tomorrow so we can protect the course.

Greens update 🌱⛳

We’ve just completed an important round of greens improvement works, including double scarification, overseeding with bentgrass, and a topdress and rub‑in across the greens currently in play.

🔧 What that means for your putter:
⛳ Double scarification removes excess thatch and organic matter, opening the surface to improve air and water movement and creating ideal channels for new seed to establish.
🌱 Overseeding with bentgrass introduces a cool‑season turf that performs strongly through winter, helping deliver a smoother, more consistent putting surface in the cooler months.
☀️ Topdressing and rub‑in involves applying and working sand into the greens to protect the seed, smooth the surface, and improve firmness and drainage.

Looking ahead to September/October, we’ll transition back to seashore paspalum for summer — selected for its heat and drought tolerance, durability under traffic, and ability to handle our conditions as the course continues to strengthen and mature .

🚫 One very important reminder: please keep all carts and buggies well clear of the greens at all times.
Park in the rough and walk in. It’s a small change that makes a massive difference.

The team is putting in the work to bring Bero’s greens back to where they should be, and these improvements only succeed if we protect them. Thanks for backing the process 👊🌿

Greens Update⛳💚

As shared in our last update, the greens have now been double scarified and are prepped and ready for the next step in their recovery journey.

From 10am tomorrow (Friday 1/5/26), our greenkeeping team will be oversowing the greens with bent grass, alongside the application of fertiliser and gypsum, followed by topdressing. This process helps protect the seed, retain moisture and set the greens up for stronger winter performance.

The course will remain open during works, though you may notice our team on the greens — and occasionally in the line of play — as they work their magic.

A heads‑up that the greens will be on the sandy side tomorrow. We know that’s not ideal for putting, but it’s an essential step in rejuvenating the surfaces and improving overall quality in the weeks ahead.

We kindly ask that you keep an eye out for works in progress and give our greenkeepers right of way when needed. Thanks for your patience — every pass of the mower, spreader and topdresser is part of getting Bero back to where it should be 💚

⛳ Greens update – we hear you⛳

We know it’s been a bit… character‑building out there lately, so here’s where things stand.

At present, three temporary greens are in play (2nd, 3rd and 9th) as these greens are no longer viable. The remaining six greens are still open, however they are under significant stress.

Tomorrow (Wednesday 29/4), we will be oversowing the six greens currently in play with bent grass to improve putting surfaces through winter. This involves introducing new seed into the existing turf. We will also be carrying out a double scarify—cutting grooves into the surface to help the seed settle in and be protected—followed by a light topdress (sand) to cover the seed, retain moisture, and smooth the surface. Fertiliser, gypsum, and watering will follow to encourage strong growth.

We understand the frustration and truly appreciate your patience. This work is about setting the course up properly — not just for now, but for the long term. Progress isn’t always instant, but it is happening, and we’re committed to getting Beresfield back to where it should be.

Thanks for sticking with us 💚⛳

🌱 Greens update 🌱
Around two months ago, we hydroseeded with Seashore Paspalum, a warm‑season grass that needs higher soil temps to really get going.

As we’ve moved into autumn, the cooler mornings and nights have slowed germination — it’s simply a bit too cold right now.

The good news? The seed is there, it’s healthy, and once warmer weather returns, the greens will spring to life. We’re expecting that to happen around September–October.

Meanwhile, the rest of the course is looking better than ever — fairways are in great shape, tees are thriving and the rough is back to a very playable standard.

Huge progress has been made across Bero, and it’s only getting better.
Thanks for your patience — good things take time 💚⛳
