Hi Legends,
Benny here from Coal City Strongman. Unfortunately due to a lack of athlete registrations for the Upper Hunter Show Down, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the event. With costs of running shows becoming more challenging, unfortunately we are at less than 25% of the budget needed to host this show, from registration revenue.
We are determined to run great shows, with every event we run under the Coal City Strongman banner and with such limited numbers, don't feel we can provide an event that truly creates the spectacle that either the athletes or spectators deserve.
We are committed to also host Smoke In Broke this June long weekend and will be releasing details this week. We are disappointed we could not provide this great opportunity to put strongman infront of such a big crowd at one of the biggest agricultural shows in the state and understand that disappointment likely felt by anyone within the strongman community as well. We endeavour to create the best possible opportunities for athletes at a grass roots level, to enjoy this sport to it's fullest and deliver strong pathways to achieve what ever your goals may be in your strongman journey.
If you are interedted in any strongman comps at these foundation levels, we strongly encourage you register early for them. The costs of running these shows is only increasing, with low numbers creating uncertainty around the financial viability of promoting shows. Early interest and registration throws your support behind these events and ensures that these opportunities continue to be available for grass roots strongman in NSW.
