The excitement had been building all week for the PGA Legends Pro Am held of the 17 & 18 July. Conditions were tough with winds blowing up to 40kt on Friday and Saturday making the elusive Hole-In-One very difficult to achieve, and needless to say, stayed safe for another year. There was a Hole-in-One though, but on the 3rd hole by golf professional, Paul Powell to finish with a 4 under round of 30 and a share of second place with Professional Peter Jones! Jason Norris was the leader though at the finish of day 2 shooting consistent rounds of 32-32-64. Paul Powell 35-30 & Peter Jones 34-31 shared second, one behind on 65 followed by Matthew Rogers 31-35-66 and Marcus Cain 32-34-66 for third place.
The amateur results for the 2 days were:

• Runner-up – Tracey Stephens 18 points
• Third – Chris Delaney 17 points c/b
Day 1 Division 2:
• Winner – Mick McConnell 19 points c/b

We are very excited for the final days play of the PGA Legends Pro Am. The Hole In One prize is up for grabs on hole 1 thanks to Bill Robertson Toyota and the professional coaching clinic is kicking off at 11am, open to all players and skill levels.
Everyone is welcome to come down and watch the action throughout the day, grab a bite to eat from The Chef & Waitress and a beverage from the Pro shop and follow the players on course.

Day 1 of the PGA Legends Pro Am is done with the pro leaderboard showing Matthew Rogers leading with a 3 under, 31, followed closely by Marcus Cain, Mike Zilko & Jason Norris all carding 2 under on 32. Catch all the action tomorrow on course when the first group tees off at 8am. All spectators are welcome to come down grab a drink, something to eat and follow the players on course. Look forward to seeing who takes out the 2026 title!!

The well anticipated 1770 Club Championships were held on the weekend of 27th & 28th June with a fantastic attendance by over 50 club members. Thank you to Mizuno and Zone Golf Australia for their wonderful sponsorship again of our local event.

Leading day one in the Men’s field was Ashley Newstead with a 76, 8 shots over par, closely followed by Steve Black on 78 then Brett Newstead & Paul Rodi both on 79. Ashley couldn’t hold his lead on day 2 and Paul Rodi came into form with a 4 over par round of 72 to take the win with a 151 off the stick! Steve Black came in Mens runner-up champion, 3 shots behind on 154. The Ladies field on day 1 was lead by Di Wolfe with an 88, closely followed by Hannah Lawrence one shot behind on 89. Hannah found her form also on day 2 to take the win with an 81, 170 total followed by runner up Ladies champion Tania Dickson with 180.

· The Ladies division winner went to Sue Hughes with consistent rounds and a net 141 and Hannah Lawrence placed runner-up net with a net 144.

· Mens A Grade winner went to Steve Black with a net 136 and runner-up went to Paul Rodi with a net 141.

· Mens B Grade winner was won by Tim Anderson with a net 136 on a countback from Chris Delaney runner-up.

· Mens C Grade winner went to Troy Wise with a net 136 and Ross Graving placed runner-up with a net 138.

Pin shots on day 1 were won by Gary Pengelly hole 3, Andrew Lockwood hole 4, Rod Dahl hole 5 and Ryan Watson hole 6. Sue Hughes took out the ladies longest drive and Andrew Lockwood the mens. Day 2 pin shots went to Lachlan Hazell on hole 3, Rick Niven hole 4, Chris Delaney hole 5 and James Tilley hole 6. Hannah Lawrence won the ladies longest drive and Ashley Newstead the mens.
