🥽WE'RE HIRING – CASUAL / ON CALL STAFF
Want to spend your workdays on the Great Barrier Reef? We might have the role for you.
Dive Spear and Sport is getting ready for the busy season and we're looking for a few awesome casual Divemasters / Snorkel Guides / Deckhands to join our crew on a casual / ad hoc basis here in Agnes Water / 1770.
We’re a small, passionate team running diving, snorkelling and marine education experiences on the Southern Great Barrier Reef. We like our days busy, our coffee strong, our guests happy and our reef sparkling.
What will you be doing?
No two days or roles are exactly the same. Your role could include:
💦 Snorkel guiding – getting in the water with our snorkellers, sharing your reef knowledge and helping guests discover the underwater world.
💦 Deck duties – helping with boat operations, gear setup, loading/unloading, passenger safety and keeping things running smoothly throughout the day.
💦 Dive Centre duties – washing and maintaining gear, filling tanks, preparing equipment, organise passenger manifests, and assist in retail sales as needed. keeping the dive centre organised,
💦 Reef education & conservation – sharing your knowledge and passion for the Great Barrier Reef and helping us deliver responsible, sustainable tourism experiences.
And yes… occasionally (like daily) you'll be required to work somewhere with a pretty spectacular office.
We're looking for someone who:
💦 Holds a current Divemaster qualification, rescue diver or equivalent, snorkel guiding qualifications or similar, or bronze medallion.
💦 Has current First Aid, CPR & O2 provider certification (or is willing to get them prior to commencing)
💦 Is confident and competent in the water
💦 Is physically fit and happy with an active, hands-on role
💦 Has excellent communication and customer service skills
💦Is reliable, positive and doesn't mind getting their hands dirty
💦 Can work well as part of a small team
💦Has a genuine passion for the ocean and the Great Barrier Reef
💦 Is comfortable working on boats and in a marine environment
💦 Must be over 18 years of age for these roles.

This role would suit:
💦 People with marine tourism / dive experience who are travelling and want to work for a few months. (Must be in town and have work visa)

At this point, we are NOT hiring full time or permanent positions. These are seasonal roles only. However, as roles become available, current team members will be given priority.
